The Dragon Lord inadvertently saved most of their lives by sending his literal bookwyrm of a son out to deal with Ainz. Anyone else would have simply attacked him and Ainz would have just casually ended the rest of them without a word.

I think he would’ve kept killing until they would cooperate. So at least 3 would’ve died (not hejinmarl, his dad, and the brother who spoke against ainz). More may have died but with how quickly the others submitted after daddy died makes me think they’re smart enough to not antagonize him.

In LN the three wives look at hejinmal with hope of survive, hejinmal is the one who says 'i have three mothers!", then ainz come to that line trying to figure what hejinmal means with three mothers
He probably knew about Dragon traditions and the like. Or he just knows the lore about the world he's living in before he was forced into it.
Hejinmal is not a coward, the name of it is common sense. Even before he realized how strong Ainz was, this dragon was handling the situation right, without hostility or arrogance like the rest of his family would.
My headcannon is that by not training his body and dedicating himself to reading and gaining knowledge, he ended up increasing his intelligence stat, which allowed him to perceive the obvious danger that was approaching.
Hejinmal is the reason the whole dragon family was not slain.
He bowing before Ains shown its power saved then from being used as loot.
Actually one has to work against common sense to come to the conclusions he did.
Common sense dictates that as a dragon he should have an easy time destroying a lowly skeleton, dwarf, and elves; that these enemies are so trivial that even his father who doesn't think much of him can dispose of them easily.
His brains did let him figure out quickly that if they aren't afraid of dragons, and if the skeleton is decked out in extremely valuable gear, that it was actually his life that was in grave danger and not the other way around.
@@rahn45 Indeed. Common sense for other creatures, but not among dragons. Like how it is common sense among trolls to see those who bear long names as cowardly. The Warrior King notes himself as an exception to this in his exchange with Ainz.

This is something I like about Ainz, for all his cruelty and willingness to cause massive amounts of death, he tend to keep his promises to those who have been good to him.

That is something that is mentioned in the novel once, as the terrifying thing about Ainz is that he can punish someone horribly or reward them in an incredible way, that contrast has many in the New World terrified.

Ainz is a puzzler. He has zero value for life (and this is mostly a side-affect of being a lich), but he does not commit intentional cruelties himself. And if he establishes a personal relationship with you, he will treat you well and loyally.
Although sometimes he is just clueless, like when he doesn’t realize that the “Abelion sheep skin” that Demiurge uses to make magic scrolls is actually flayed human skin from a prison farm Demiurge established. I am still not sure how much Ainz knows about what goes on in the depths of Nazarick.
But even if he’s not cruel, Ainz will still casually commit genocide. So… yeah, he’s definitely evil.

In the LN, Hejinmal is an oddity: He likes to study and read, to his father's disappointment. He still has the skills of a dragon which he appraised Ainz's clothing to be priceless, but he also had the gut feeling about how dangerous the group from Nazarick was.
In the end, that feeling saved his mother and the frost dragons from being eradicated and turned into tiered scrolls.
In a sense, knowledge too can be a treasure, so, not so odd...
Basically the opposite of the Quagoa leader who needed to be shown instead of reading between the lines. He instead got his 60k population cut down to 10k.

@@mysteriousstranger5100 Riyuro was kind of in a bad situation, no matter what. In comparison to all the other races that live in that mountain, the Quagoa were the most unimpressive.
Sure, they are more powerful than the dwarves, but the dwarves have more potential to be useful.

@@asianpersuasion4901 It's just my headcanon, which is logical if we think about it carefully, he was the only dragon that didn't train his body like the rest and instead dedicated himself to reading books and expanding his knowledge.
He barely saw Ainz and immediately understood that he had no chance, which none of the other dragons understood until Ainz demonstrated his power. That sounds to me like a high stat related to intelligence.

When the dragon lord called Ainz a skeleton and all there reactions… Just perfect. Completely captures Ainz disapproval of beings with no knowledge.
Last time someone called him "Skeleton" it was a War Troll so not a very smart species indeed

My boy Hejinmal's POV chapter was the funniest chapter among all of the volumes. When he heard all of his father's concubines say "that's me" in answer to who's the mother. He almost said "that's me" himself lol. & its a shame they gave the lines about saving his mother to Gondo. It would've been better coming from Hejinmal Himself.
I personally like the change, I mean I find it quite too much for the Dragon that just swore fealty to now ask for favors. Super rude IMO, Gondo saying it is supported by his filial nature and wants Hejinmal to have one of his parent spared. Plus Gondo is respected enough by Ains to request that of him.
Sad they didn't animate the part where the Dragon Lord takes a look at Ainz's godly world-item drip and then threatens him saying to hand over all he owns to add to his gold mountain collection, but Puff the chubby dragon was really cute and made up for it. 😄 💓

Man, it was fun looking at Gondo’s reaction in every scene that episode. He was just there in the background but had so much expressions. And lastly, he was badass standing on top of the dragon.

You're almost right. One of them was indeed his mother, but all of them treated him very poorly. Out of compassion, he said what would spare them all, even if they were all horrible parents to him.

The one who calls him "my oldest" earlier in the episode is his mother. Dragons don't really have much in the ways of familial bonds. That's also why when Gondo asked if one of the dragons in there was his mother, Hejinmal answered with a confused "yeah" like he didn't know why that would matter. He only agreed with Ains because the 3 mother dragons would owe him their lives.

my favourite part of this storyline was the dragon immediately recognising Ainz was a threat with a glance. he doesn't have a player-character skill like "scan" but he sees that Ainz is both powerful and resistant to the main damage a frost dragon could deal.
Meanwhile his father is nothing but raw power. Something his peers respect, but which means nothing to Ainz.

Honestly, the dragons are lucky that they sent Hejinmal instead of another dragon. Imagine how many more would have died if Ainz's first interaction with a dragon was a hostile one

Still feel bad for that one mom. Only one who didn't just jump to attack the dwarves. Weighing pros and cons is how you decide what type or if you will conduct warfare. You don't just run out like serious sam. She was the only one on point and everyone crapped on her😂 (I know it's Ainz, but come on, who would even think to plan for basically a god strolling up like a salesman).

Guys I need a solid anime recommendation like this... I love that he's so op and especially the amount of dominance he shows. I think what I loved was how he continuously fights stronger enemies and has to think cautiously because he's not sure if there is anyone stronger than him at all. The political element was really nice as well. I loved Reincarnated as a slime and spider as well.
I recommend The Misfit of the Demon King Academy. The MC is comedically overpowered but he genuinely cares for people who are loyal to him

Touch Me. Would probably disagree. As would most of them from a human level. However even if they would, which is fair to say. The bigger question is how would their characters affect them as well. Since just like Ainz they would be a fusion of themselves and who they are in yddrissal.

A separate question know is not how actions are precieved but could they somehow be undone. Like a mass revival of some sort via the abikities they had in the game

I somehow wish that there would be someone who actually is on par with Ainz. This is just getting boring. This is akin to bringing a modern army into the Stone Age. What is the point? Where is the threat to him and Nazzarik. No stakes, where he could actually loose someone or something. Everybody grovels before him and does his bidding. Could someone please spoiler me!
Might as well drop the show. There will be no other players since the author has decided to end the story early. The final boss of the story will likely be the dragons, and most of them are only level 80-95. All ainz floor guardians are level 100, so they should steamroll them. The only threat to Nazarick is civil war.
No different than pretty much any current demon being weaker than Frieren in Beyond Journey's End.
Obviously arrogance has a tendency to dull one's survival instincts with Hejinmal being lucky he never grew up to have the same egotistical mindset as his father, the bookish dragon's life was spared thanks to his bookworm lifestyle.

This is a LV47 dragon... The best thing it can do is defeat the normal undead giants.
Other dragon lords are at levels 80+, one of them has a world item as well.
Yeah you would have to wait for him to fight a True Dragon lord. Dragon lords are ancient Dragons. But True Dragon lords can use wild magic
this is a white dragon, even in dnd they have the lowest challenge rating of all dragons.
the dragon that was intoduced in season 2 ends up killing sebas with a world item. itll happen in season 5 of the show.
