I'll be honest If you like this should have happened in canon where Nagato giving Naruto the rinnegan to keep it away from obito and to show his faith in Naruto accomplishing his dream to achieve peace ( Funny thing is after looking it up the author would have had Rinnegan Naruto actually happened but at the risk of making the main character OP at the start and with the confirmed abilities will solve a lot of problems during the war , especially against Madara). Not sure about the romance but Konan getting killed off in her fight with obito always felt wrong so we're getting rescued and given a second chance of redemption to fight in the war was definitely needed and should have happened in the original story. It's sad that she became a victim of the author's bias writing that majority the female cast gets the short end of the stick.
