In this instance it was caused by a blown MOSFET
"The Xbox 360 motherboard takes in 12V from the "brick" then converts it down to more useful voltages that the chips can use. Most notably, 5V, 3.3V, and 1.8V. This is done via DC-DC switching converters.
These converters use a pair of MOSFETS (high current transistors) to switch a supply line very rapidly between 12V and ground, to get an "average" voltage of somewhere in between, such as 5V. A controller chip controls the MOSFETS to regulate an exact voltage. The output of these 'FETs then goes through a coil to clean it up, and it's then smoothed up more by some capacitors and such.
Symptoms of failure:
-Xbox 360 turns on and red lights IMMEDIATELY (not after a few seconds like on some other failures, such as the dreaded 0102). No picture on the screen.
-Fan spins for a moment and stops again, and PSU may show red or orange light.
-After it shows the red lights, the secondary error code will be 0002 or 0003.

If you need to replace the fan or the disk drive this video will show you how to get inside and disassemble your system. Since this system isn't the newest on the market anymore, it's cheaper to replace the parts yourself than it is to send them in for repairs.

Xbox 360 was impossible to mod. Microsoft’s security was just too good.
@@hisnakednessno, like 2moths after the realese they found the first nand dump. After 1/2 years the dvd firmware appeared and also the KK exploit.

Take some time but you can learn search up videos on how to fix it and get better has time goes on. Require some money ofc but look up easy fixes that require opening a console or any electronic and find a broken console with that issue and slowly progress

I like your videos, they are really helpful. I fixed my old SNES and N64 but I have a Xbox 360 that has become a challenge. It worked great 10 yrs ago, barely used Xbox 360. Life went on and it went into a storage box. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago. I go to try to use it and it is dead. The power supply light is orange and nothing when you press the button on the console. No lights , no power, no noise. I tested the power supply on my friends Xbox 360 and it worked on his, ruling out the power supply. I took apart the 360 and tried to power on with the cover off and the fans do not spin, no activity from the dvd drive, totally dead. I took a infared thermometer gun to the board and chips with the power supply connected to a live power strip. No heat above 78-80 degrees coming off the board or chips. I suspect the RF module went bad. As no power is going to the system it seems, but I am not sure. Any advice? Thanks!

I still have my Gears of War 360. Works perfectly fine other than the power button that I disconnected cause roaches got into it. Gave it a clean, but need to give it isopropyl clean.

This is one of the first models of the 360 that didn't usually have the problems the older models had so yeah I'd this one red ringed then something real bad happened well I'm gonna watch and see what's broken

What gives this console the gears sounds when powering on and ejecting discs? I have the same console and it has the red dot on startup just like this

0003 code means a power supply unit problem or GPU/CPU like the console isn't getting much power on the console if not cleaned correctly or that there is smth broken on the CPU/GPU or the power supply

If the console experiences an error, one to four LEDs flash red. You only see the RRoD on the original Xbox 360 console. Other models, like the Xbox 360 S and Xbox 360 E, only have one visible LED.
