Would like nomination for Nobel of peace: her and Isabel Wilkerson
Ava is so inspiring and passionate about her work. I’m so thankful that I get to watch the art she chooses to share with the world. Her voice is so important and the interviewer asks such beautiful and smart questions. Great interiew. Da’vine is fantastic actress that I hope gets many more outstanding projects

Do you understand how disrespectful it is to picture Da’Vine in your thumbnail but not in the title of the video? So eager to get clicks and views you only use Ava’s name because you think she’ll get you more attention. It’s your little SEO and viewer retention tactic, right? How the industry markets Black people in certain projects diminishes their contributions to the film or show. Like you did in titling this video it screams they aren’t marketable enough to even mention, but we’ll use their art for your gain. You did an entire segment about Da’Vine so add her damn name in the video title. She’s an award winner now, so she’s “worthy” and people are searching for her here too, not just Ava.

Agreed! I didn't come here for Ava DuVernay I came her for the enchanting Miss Randoplh. Her talent and devotion to quality work are amazing! Put some respect on her name! If you're going to interview her put her name on the video. She's earned it!
At 32:12 in the video the dialogue says "why does a Latino man deputize himself to stalk a Black boy to protect an all-White community". Are these the words of Wilkerson herself? I thought the response from the character would be -' answers like want', but the response was "questions like what". Do you have an opinion on this? Is the train of thought clear to you? Is it that this was written with the thinking that the audience would have some degree of familiarity with Wilkerson - her work, or is it that I'm lacking the cognitive ability to follow the train of thought here, or is it not good writing?
Another point is the question of the community which is being referenced in this scene. Did not Zimmerman - a "Latino" and Trayvon Martin's father, who I assume is Black - live in that community? If this is true, why is this community being called "all-White". Who is responsible for this? Is this what Wilkerson has said or what DuVernay is saying? If the community is not all-White, statements like this further confound discussions of social/political issues - making them more difficult than they inherently are.
Duvernay speaks to this scene in an another interview, on the subject of this film, but the film clip is not presented. This notion of an all-White community in the context of this tragic and divisive event is being propagated by this statement. Is this a masterclass within in itself, in what makes it so difficult to make social and political progress in this society - our inability and/or unwillingness on all sides, to speak clearly, accurately, and honestly to these issues, or am I just misconstruing this dialogue and this statement within it?

But a wider question to why caste, racism, capitalism, sexism, Xenophobia, Jim Crow, Genocide of Native Americans, Hitlers hatred of the Jews and the like…
All lead back to White Supremacy as the cause.
