No. I listen to horror audiobooks to relax and help me fall asleep. Think about it: is Stuart ever calmly talking about stuff in a gentle even voice? No. Not really, unless he's trying to sell you on a movie based on the dumbest video game urban legend in the universe. So I'd much rather listen to vampires eating people and Elder Gods and Things That Should Not Be, because it really helps in the lucid dream department. I'd rather not induce dreams about crappy loot crate crap and shit.
That Jessica Jones one fascinates me. It has all the right facial features in the details and still manages to look absolutely nothing like Jessica Jones.
there's like a weird ASMR type thing with Ashen eating videos... * food goes off screen * * snap/crunch * * Ashens goes "mm", sometimes twice * * Ashens gives opinion on food * far too enjoyable for what it is
have horrible OCD it fucking sucks. always counting under my breath or trying to say a words perfectly, breathing in certain ways, worst of all I have lot of times where i have to throw whats in my hand into the air and catch perfectly, with anything from knives to my phone. Just amazing to see someone acknowledge how bad can be.
I have very similar symptoms too, and its hard for me to leave the house. I have to check all the outlets and stovetops, and i constantly have to touch things five times or i feel terrible. I also like it when people actually reallize its a real problem. I hate people that say "IM SO OCD LOL"
Aaron Jessee I had pretty bad OCD (but never diagnosed) when i was younger but now i'm 35 and i've been cured almost 100% and life is so much easier now. I really know what its like to have OCD but you can beat that hell! I mean, no one can say when you can be cured, it really depends on so many things you have in your life but i can assure you, it is possible to beat it :)
every time I have a pack of coloured pens or pencils I have to keep them in the order they come in, I hate when people borrow them because they never put them back in the correct place so I have to sort them all out again. They are the only things I have to have in the correct place (I am a very messy person besides for that so doubt I have OCD but other people I work with actually do have it and get really annoyed if babies do something to mess up their order of things which clearly isn't the babies faults)
I was making fun of the toxic environment and retarded hatedom for Sonic that exists online, actually. That's the reason I said "we have rules", because such a statement is so obviously false nobody would actually say it
I'm an ecuadorian and we have a thriving snacks industry, I'm sure Peru is no different in this aspect and this box was filled with Nestle stuff instead of actual local snacks.
Well, only the high quality stuff like Pacari and Republica del Cacao chocolate bars get exported, which is a shame. We have all sorts of salty and sweet snacks that are really good and not over the top like some american counterparts. Look up Bios chocolates, they are local and really good.
he should eat the real doña pepa treat that is actually a turron. i quite liked it. also who can forget the many treats you can get at your local or close by panaderia
Hi. I have to say a thank you as I'm a big Jessica jones fan and didn't know there was that figure out. So thanks to this video my parents have got me one for my birthday in a few weeks so a big thank you from me.
a lot of early games on tape were crap coz we programed them in our bedrooms and drew the inlay art ourselves, its amazing how many were actually released like that
the pencils make some sense since Mulder had a habit of chewing them or throwing them at the ceiling to get them to stick into the ceiling tiles. it was a running gag.
ThePumpkinBoat MC I really hate it when people describe themselves as 'a bit OCD' while I don't have OCD I don't think misconceptions about mental illnesses help anyone.
My Grandma Esmeralda cuts the plantain into chips, smashes each one with a plate, fries them in olive oil, and sprinkles them with garlic and salt. They're delicious that way! Very easy.....you should try them that way.
I have exactly zero knowledge of Peruvian snacks, but it's obvious even to me that this "selection" isn't representative of anything. What "Treats" looks like: They're just buying up foreign overstock for pennies on the dollar (this stuff probably would have gone to a garbage dump or a charity, if "Treats" hadn't bought it). What it doesn't look like: Anything involving research, or literally anybody involved actually caring about the purpose of the product.
I don't know if you know this, but Peru doesn't have any people living there. It's just a giant field of chocolate and biscuits as far as the eye can see.
Alex Klingonsmith I didn't know that haha that's rly cool. to be fair tho, my psychology teacher makes OCD jokes and she should definitely know better so I still think he's a good person (((:
This may be a very deep psychological question, but where do these things come from? Like touching everything metal in a bathroom before using the toilet, what would cause someone to feel they had to do that?
I'm not Peruvian, and don't speak much Spanish (I don't speak any of the other languages spoken in Peru)...but I would assume that the Cua Cua treat would probably be pronounced less like "koo-ah koo-ah" and more like "kwa kwa" because of the duck on the packaging suggesting it is supposed to be onomatopoeia.
The Vanilla Field looks like those tea biscuits I used to eat when I was a kid. They came in a long plastic wrapper. I haven't seen them in years. I wonder if they are still around.
i believe the rainbow coloured bits on the cookie are called hundreds and thousands at least round these parts. used to eat fab lollies they were covered in them
Sublime is everywhere and Cua Cua's are common, but I can't say the same about everything else in that package. I haven't even seen any of those Field cookies/biscuits in Peru, except for the Club Soda or ChocoSoda, which wasn't even there.
Jessica Jones, I had zero expectations for it, knew nothing about it, and ended up loving it. Nice length too, what was it, about 13 episodes? And it had ending, not one of those "see you in the next season!". Really liked it, have to recommend it. That statue tough, not so cool...
Photonic Pizza Sir Terry Pratchett was a literary and comedic genius. My favourite Discworld books are Mort, Guards! Guards!, Moving Pictures, The Hogfather, Thief of Time and Jingo!
my work is rather backwards at times, and we do still in fact use those Dictaphone tape recorders with the little tapes in them x.x le sigh one day we will ascend to digital, but the worry is that they are easy to delete at the touch of a button and corruptible. at least with tapes you just get a lot of warped nonsense to try and translate into words.
When are you going to feature the Toy Box again? That was the best one you did! And the quality of the stuff was a lot higher than this dollar-store crap most other boxes contain. ...Or might I even recommend the Nostalgia Crate as a replacement for The Toy Box?
It's interesting seeing these treat boxes from other countries, more than half of their products are made by American companies yet they don't offer such things here typically.
So disappointed the Peruvian snack box didn't contain the giant corn snack I enjoy so much in Peru (Inca corn I think). Also I know you can't post fizzy drinks but Inca cola is awesome, like iron bru but better!
Don't you hate it when you hear ashens bring something up that you've heard while doing something else, then come back to find the part where he mentioned it and cant find it again?
Plantain is a banana. The bananas you're used to are desert bananas, where as plantain is more a staple food. Hence the reason why you thought it tasted like potato.
I still have one of those dictation recorder things... and like 8 tapes for it. I have no real idea why I still have it, considering the recording quality is atrocious. I think I got it in the mid-to-late 90's and just haven't bothered to give it a decent burial in the trash yet. I suppose I could take it apart and Learn Something before completely forgetting any useful information and tossing it.
I've wanted to get the new book as a hardback but it's kinda offputting how the international shipping even inside europe is almost the same cost as the book. Putting the total to a grand 34 pounds.
I've recently moved back to the UK after being abroad for 8 years and went to a B&M Bargains, he really wasn't kidding, they had a whole shelve dedicated to the Deadpool and Batman figures lmaoo
Does anyone else put on Ashens to help them fall asleep sometimes? His voice is just so soothing...
Yeah, I also listen to LGR stuff for that
yesss
I used to do that
"I'm going to go microwave this large dog cock"-Stuart Ashens
No.
I listen to horror audiobooks to relax and help me fall asleep.
Think about it: is Stuart ever calmly talking about stuff in a gentle even voice? No. Not really, unless he's trying to sell you on a movie based on the dumbest video game urban legend in the universe.

The holes in the Coronitas are to relive pressure as the two halves of biscuit are pressed together as to avoid nuclear explosion

far too enjoyable for what it is
He never answers anyone either....Not good.

That plushie of Doctor Moustache Phil didn't look too terrible.
Not Doctor. Just Moustache Phil, if you please. He isn't accredited in the UK.
If you start calling him Doctor Moustache Phil, the fame goes to his head, so under all circumstances, DO NOT CALL HIM A DOCTOR.
Shut up. Nobody is allowed to think Sonic-related stuff is ok. This is the internet, we have rules
I was making fun of the toxic environment and retarded hatedom for Sonic that exists online, actually. That's the reason I said "we have rules", because such a statement is so obviously false nobody would actually say it
Shaddy You're not an authority, people can like what they want. leave sonic fans alone
As a peruvian I feel obligated to tell you that this box is not representative of the treats we eat over here. Also, Picaras have no coconut.
it is representative of commercial branded treats
I'm an ecuadorian and we have a thriving snacks industry, I'm sure Peru is no different in this aspect and this box was filled with Nestle stuff instead of actual local snacks.
pino arias can't think of any actually good Ecuadorian treat... do black chocolate bars count? only high quality stuff I know
Well, only the high quality stuff like Pacari and Republica del Cacao chocolate bars get exported, which is a shame. We have all sorts of salty and sweet snacks that are really good and not over the top like some american counterparts.

Hey Ashens, you know why Donkey Kong always brushes his teeth?
To prevent tooth DK.
Fuck you
Vladimir Putin You again? Holy...Dude...Wow.
get out.
Given your name, that response seems reasonable.
You cannot criticise anyone for a username m8 just look at yours
*Get a load of THIS!*
Hi crispy toast
a lot of early games on tape were crap coz we programed them in our bedrooms and drew the inlay art ourselves, its amazing how many were actually released like that
the pencils make some sense since Mulder had a habit of chewing them or throwing them at the ceiling to get them to stick into the ceiling tiles. it was a running gag.
Sincerely from everybody with OCD, thank you Ashens!!
thanks for the shoutout about OCD misconceptions/jokes, treating mental illness like a cute 'quirk' really grates on me
To be fair that's what everyone does now with depression
I appreciate your comment on OCD. Had it since I was 5 or so.
ThePumpkinBoat MC I really hate it when people describe themselves as 'a bit OCD' while I don't have OCD I don't think misconceptions about mental illnesses help anyone.
Yes, because you were diagnosed.
You idiot. Having depression and being depressed are completely different.
+Jasmine Nice thank you
Jasmine Nice yeah OCD is an extremely damaging and serious mental illness it can even lead to suicide
So many plain biscuits from Peru. No wonder Paddington needed to carry around so much Marmalade...
It's 3:39 AM...The sway this man has over my life is scandalous
Ahmed Malik It's 11:55 here in Ireland and it's the same time in England too. Why he uploads at this hour I will never know
D.K Studios I agree.
he mentioned once he likes uploading at random intervals so its a "nice surprise"...I'm not sure stuart has a very firm grasp over what nice means
It's 3:39am 4 years later
Thanks for saying what you said about OCD. helps a lot, because most people are pricks about it.
Amazes me that there is still a market for these subscription services.
My Grandma Esmeralda cuts the plantain into chips, smashes each one with a plate, fries them in olive oil, and sprinkles them with garlic and salt. They're delicious that way! Very easy.....you should try them that way.

Jonathan Williamson As a Peruvian I can sadly confirm
You can find this sort of stuff at the Dollar Tree, or Big Lots stores near where I am.
I miss the 80s and 90s boxes with the action figure and video game cartridges in them.
The sublime bar did not change phase directly to a gas, consider me disappointed.
I don't know if you know this, but Peru doesn't have any people living there. It's just a giant field of chocolate and biscuits as far as the eye can see.
the OCD comments made me so happy as someone who has OCD ((((:
Stuart has a doctorate in psychology (or was it psychiatry?), so he would definitely know what OCD really is
Alex Klingonsmith I didn't know that haha that's rly cool. to be fair tho, my psychology teacher makes OCD jokes and she should definitely know better so I still think he's a good person (((:
So what is OCD if not liking things in a certain order? I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm genuinely curious.
Alex Everett-last many forms. Like touching everything metal in a bathroom before you can use the toilet
HaydenX you're actually right. It's the onomatopoia
You are my favorite channel. I have crippling anxiety and you hep calm the PTSD
Octarine is the colour of magic
Stuart, the slot on the Lüt crate box is made to slide out from it the folding handle integrated to the same side of the box.
Thank you for telling people not trivialise OCD and mental health in general.
12:05 - coupled with the image of a duck, it seems likely that the intended pronunciation is "kwah kwah" (as in "quack"), not kewa kewa.
From what I recall, Mulder didn't line up those pencils because of OCD, but because he wanted to flick them all into the styrofoam ceiling tiles.
"Why bother? Why bother?" my whole line of thought when it comes to these "crate" thingies.
Ashens uploaded. I clapped. 20 mins less sleep this night.
The Kong cover is beautyful! I like the font handmade with colored pencils and a ruler.
The shop I work at sells a ton of those plantain chips. Great snack!
That's one sneaky Discworld reference you got there.

12:05 "cua cua" is the onomatopoeia for the sounds ducks make, in Spanish.
>1:45AM
>Ashens has uploaded new video.
Thanks dad.
"I wonder if there's a lot of sugar in those", he asked, holding the package with the detailed contents in full view.
i didnt know Peru, Massachusetts had such a diverse culinary range
Everyone's favorite Peruvian snack, Fujimori Bars! You can taste the embezzlement!
*SOY INOCENTE!*
DI-SOL-VER, also , the humala spinoff snacks
I agree with you ashens, those Morochas cookies are really good! I had them at a friends house - very tasty!
I want to see more of you eating snacks from around the world
Unemployed, depressed and available to watch ashens in the middle of the day.
checking in 2 years later, you doing alright now my dude?
Jessica Jones, I had zero expectations for it, knew nothing about it, and ended up loving it.
Nice length too, what was it, about 13 episodes? And it had ending, not one of those "see you in the next season!".
Really liked it, have to recommend it.
That statue tough, not so cool...
I love how I watch this and the very next video in the "Up next" section is the fucking inflatable fucking crown episode from 2 years ago this month.
Ah, octarine, I see you're a man of culture yourself.
TheQuentinSK8 I read through the comments just to 👍... well, and to post it myself if I did take find it. #GNUTerryPratchett
Fantastic
Reading Discworld, already at book 5. Love it so much, Pratchett was amazing.
Photonic Pizza Sir Terry Pratchett was a literary and comedic genius. My favourite Discworld books are Mort, Guards! Guards!, Moving Pictures, The Hogfather, Thief of Time and Jingo!
that files thing is awesome. and a good pencil sharpener is hard to find and keep around!
Nice little Discworld reference Ashens!
The artwork on the shirt reminds me of an X-men cover for the hellfire club when jean grey was turning into dark Phoenix.about the same era.
i get so excited when i see a new ashens video. YAY
Lootcrate just gets sadder and sadder.
Hoot Bait.
A monthly owl hunters collectors pack direct to your door.
They sell, or at least used to sell, the Inka plantain chips in Dollarama in Canada. They were decent
Yup, Dollarama still has those, and I effing LOVE them!
I want Ashens to narrate my life
They are selling those "lootcrate exclusive" Q Figures in homebargins for £3.99 I brought a deadpool one
my work is rather backwards at times, and we do still in fact use those Dictaphone tape recorders with the little tapes in them x.x le sigh one day we will ascend to digital, but the worry is that they are easy to delete at the touch of a button and corruptible. at least with tapes you just get a lot of warped nonsense to try and translate into words.
They have those plantain chips for 1.15$ here in french Canada
Ashens, Book 3. Really Old Games That Were So Unknown, They Didn't Make It Into The First Two Books.
Today is Peru's independence day.
I have a box of Doña Pepa around. I laughed hard watching this while eating one.
I must say, I enjoy these videos immensely!
This video was a roller coaster of laughs, I enjoy the style of your channe and kind of jokes, also for the illustrative unboxings. Thanks!
those Lil sound recorders are awesome also.
Fantastic stuff,Ashens.Mind you youve probably seen most of that stuff in Poundland.
Pracatan *waves feather boa*. Clive James on a Sunday night if I remember correctly.
7:40 Hmm, I'm not sure if that is the correct comparison to use.
I could listen to Ashen's spanish all day.
So disappointed the Peruvian snack box didn't contain the giant corn snack I enjoy so much in Peru (Inca corn I think). Also I know you can't post fizzy drinks but Inca cola is awesome, like iron bru but better!
The pin is from Twin Peaks.
10:33 made me think of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin
Don't you hate it when you hear ashens bring something up that you've heard while doing something else, then come back to find the part where he mentioned it and cant find it again?
Plantain is a banana. The bananas you're used to are desert bananas, where as plantain is more a staple food. Hence the reason why you thought it tasted like potato.
Bloody hell yes you're still doing this just not catching up for some reason.
any idea when attack of the flickering skeletons will release? I bought it and am really excited!
I still have one of those dictation recorder things... and like 8 tapes for it. I have no real idea why I still have it, considering the recording quality is atrocious. *Looks at the badge that has the theme written directly in front of his eyes* "I think the theme is investigate..."
Stuart...
Get your eyes checked...
I think the logo might be on there cause it just looks like the speaker grate thing
I feel like those X-Files pencils would be best displayed Mulder style and stuck in your ceiling.
I've recently moved back to the UK after being abroad for 8 years and went to a B&M Bargains, he really wasn't kidding, they had a whole shelve dedicated to the Deadpool and Batman figures lmaoo
Is it just me or was there a discworld reference in there? Never heard the term octerine out side of terry pratchett's books.
I love how on the pencil sharpener it says *MADE IN CHINA*
I love Blue Ribband, it's my favourite
Reference to Octarine. Terry Pratchett, good on you Stuart. This is why I love your videos.
The art on old game cases are just fantastic (with some exceptions).
Bloody hell, please still do these.
Fun Fact: Plantains (Platanos) are very similar to Bananas visually, but the taste is completely different
At first I thought that was a ballad box. Silly me!! 🙃
There's Loot Crate exclusive Qfigs in Home Bargains ATM :)
Prefer the name Robotnik as opposed to Eggman
I'm trying to sleep Ashens. *Damn You!*
Hazerion same
First Eurovision and now this! DAMN YOU TO HELL ASHENS
Everyone fuck off with posting this same comment on every fucking Ashens video.
You're not special, you just live in Europe.

what happened to the 80's and 90's boxes. those where the best
I would've gotten last month's LootCrate but I haven't had a chance to watch Jessica Jones or Stranger Things to want any stuff from those shows.
16:45 oh snap my Granadmas name was Margarita
WHAT A WORLD WE LIVE IN
