7 minutes and no overheating warning on the 1IV. That's somewhat reasuuring. As you said, it seems that Photo Pro is the way to go. When I get the phone, I'll make sure to turn on Flight mode when using the camera, won't shoot in harsh sunny conditions (midday), won't install the May update, and I'll restart the phone after the initial set up (Installing apps etc.) Hopefully that helps. If they roll out an update to mitigate the overheating, it will probably underpower the processor, which I fear will make the cameras noticeably slower, and I wouldn't want that. If all the above doesn't work, then I might strap an ice pack to the phone, so what if it starts melting outdoors, the phone's waterproof anyway 😂
I have newer findings. CinemaPro with everything set to manually besides AF and stabilisation records over 33 minutes without any overheating or heat warning. That means some auto mode algorithm is the culprit here. I have made good progress with Video Pro turning off EyeAF/FaceAF and setting ISO to a manual setting. Recorded also 30 mins with heat warning and then over 30 mins with overheating warning where I turned it off after 32 mins all in 23°C room temperature
@@ahmedbebars6844 In an extrem weather cindition it was 30 seconds. But it was like 30°C in the shadow so much hotter in the sun. Also I think it was overheating because if prior video recording and could bot cool down enough. I need to retest this as it is not a valid testing method by all means. So take this as a super rare scenario and very rough value for now
can you make pictures while doing video recording in hdr on the xperia 1iii now? on the xperia 5ii i couldnt but when hdr turned off you can while making video.
Still you can't switch to selfie camera while recording a video? That is too bad cause the sensor is basically the same now right. 4k and 12mp . Would be nice if Sony would make that too. Just a nice fun little feature for videos
I jist updatet my Xperia 1IV this morning with the new firmware version :64.0.A.5.71 and tok som pictures and it sems like the 5.2 optical zoome is a bit better this update is now release in europe .
@@lltechview I have tried downloading the official app for camera, the icon is not the same anymore,and you can't install it.. So maybe someone should make a mod? That's what I hate about Sony, you get the camera and there will be no other upgrade.. in contrast to all the other companies..
Btw is it possible to use all the camera apps while using the game enhancer app? The game enhancer app has a battery saving mode that turns hrtz to 40fps and also I think it lowers ramm use etc so maybe the phone would heat up less with this?
Man you know that this is stupid right? It's Sony to blame for using the same processor while knowing that it has overheating issues and now they have to throttle it down, making the phone less capable let's say while their modo is: speed for everything, lol

Can you please have a look, if the level in the photo app is working in a 3D aka virtual horizon mode or just a simple 2D way? 2D would mean, only measuring horizontal level, 3D would mean verticals too. For a more serious architectural shots it would be a pity if the level is just 2D as I suspect. Thank you!

Nope that is not possible. It will give you an error message when trying to saying it is not possible.
Can you compare the video pro apps by sideloading apks?
