Hi! I have a question that might be confusing. I use Square Register. If I create the barcodes and load them onto my Square app all on an iPad, and then use Square Register to ring out customers, do you know if the barcodes would work?
Hi! The scanner works on Square however, you have to be on the search bar for it to work and make sure your device is connected to the scanner via Bluetooth. You have to click the square search bar -> scan the barcode-> item shows up -> click item -> item is put in cart.
I was so excited after watching this video to set up my own barcodes. For some reason, the scanner didn't not connet to my ipad? Is there a trick to getting it paired?
The scanner comes with a set up guide which includes a barcode you have to scan in order to pair it with your ipad. It’s fairly easy. How old is your ipad maybe that can be an issue too.
Your video was great! I just wish Square would update the app so you don't have to select the item and then hit the back button. Too much wasted time - may as well just find the item on my own :(
You don’t need extra software, are you clicking the search bar in square before scanning? Is your scanner connected to your system via Bluetooth? Is your system updated or compatible? Your scanner should connect like any other Bluetooth device
Hi! So there’s nothing to really connect but your computer/phone/iPad to the scanner via Bluetooth , the barcode scanned will read only on the square search bar - go to the square search bar like your about to search for an item then scan the barcode and it should show up.
Make sure the scanner is properly connected through Bluetooth to your laptop or phone before opening the square app. Square will only recognize the scanner when you click the search tab like you’re about to search for a product, then scan the barcode and it should read it.

It’s all in the Phomemo app :)
But my system says that the barcode produced by my Phomemo is invalid and won't scan it!😩 Do I need extra software? Thank you!!!
You don’t need extra software, are you clicking the search bar in square before scanning? Is your scanner connected to your system via Bluetooth? Is your system updated or compatible? Your scanner should connect like any other Bluetooth device
