Pink is SO underrated. She's had an incredible, long-lasting career. She can effortlessly do R&B, rock, pop, she's an amazing raw singer. I think when people go pop they end up losing some credibility and people don't want to remember how absolutely talented someone is. She's on my top 5 vocalists of this generation.

Today, idk what you'd call her bc all her songs range from pop rock, (NOT bubblegum pop) yet she still has a lil edgy RnB in some songs infused with some definite rock. Then she also has some beautiful ballads. "I Don't Believe You" is my all-time favorite ballad of hers. 1st time I heard it, it actually brought tears to my eyes. Its just a beautiful song and video. Like I said in a previous comment- she's just CLASSIC. Whatever she sings is amazing! Hell she could sing the dictionary and people would buy it! Most unique voice since Janis Joplin & Stevie Nicks. She's just one of a kind for sure! Then to sing that well flying thru the air!! Freaking unbelievable!
Early on in her career she said she wouldn’t limit herself to just one type of music she wanted to try it all cause she likes all kinds of music. She did just that ❤️
I totally agree! I like her pop stuff but R&B P!nk sounds better.I think she went to pop for more money and popularity.Kind of like Usher, how he ditched his R&B roots for some music that wasn't his best work. He's some better doing r&b.
@@MJJSmoothCriminal actually, she initiated the change to a more pop/rock oriented sound which is what she wanted to do. The R&B is what her label was pushing her to sell. I don't believe she began writing until Missundaztood, which is the album that pretty much established her signature sound.
P!nk said this was not an “era” She lived this life she sang in many Philly Gospels, clubs and concert halls anywhere she could be heard she sang this was her style but her record label didn’t want her to experiment with other music she grew up with like rock, pop etc..she was more than just and only r&b. She still loves it! She paid homage to her dance sequence in this video recently in her current video.
As much as P!nk always states this style 'wasn't the real her', she sure as hell performs and looks a lot better than most of the genuine r'n'b artists of that era
Yell S I see your point. I wasn't trying to say she was exactly the Beyonce of that time but I was more referring to the fact that this was an image she was given rather than chosen herself, and back then I would never have thought that because she was as good, and in some cases better, than some of the pop/r'n'b artists of that time. And I agree with your point that she was better than to now, but then I see them as two different P!nks. I love Can't Take Me Home era but I can still appreciate and enjoy some of the later, rockier stuff she's done.
+Acer Ace I feel that. Her initial transition wasn't bad. Then she started getting preachy and seperating herself from others for petty reasons such as with the song Stupid Girls. Now she is on some cornball shit altogether.
After Mizunderstood it did get a bit much, I agree, and Stupid Girls was a silly song, I hated it. I do like Funhouse (The album, not the song) and a few tracks post-Funhouse though. She's intense so I have to really be in the mood for that side of her.
If I remember correctly, R&B was a stepping stone for her, R&B was not her heart it just opened the door for her. This just shows how much talent she has by being able to sing more than one type of music. I still think she has not been given enough credit for her voice

I know a lot of Pink fans don't like her early music because she didn't get to write or choose her music but this is honestly one of my favorite albums from her.
P!nk has been my childhood forever. Shes not underrated but she is not overrated. She always has a song that sticks out and i can feel and understand the lyrics. Not only that, but she's also amazing as a person and she is not like every other singer nowadays that sings about love, romance, sex and drugs. She called out George W Bush in her song "dear mr president" and has good confidence songs, "idgaf" songs, deep songs and everything else. Yes, her new album has a lot of songs about live but also about loss and might as well be calling out every narcissist in her song "hate me". She is lyricly gifted and her songs have deeper meanings than most people think or even imagine.
Pink, I don't know why I love this song by you from 2000. It's good that's why. I just answered my own question. And it's almost Christmas again where I am now, too. This one's even good at that time in December, as well.
