Very well done tour. I've been enamored of this boat ever since I read Tania Aebi's book. I found one in California and it did not disappoint. I ended up doing a circumnavigation on a larger boat and never bought it but I still have a lot of affection for it. Thanks for the vid.
The camera lies. I had one decades ago, they are pretty small down below. Great little boats though. The Jeremy Rogers yard was in my home town of Lymington.
This is for the rough and tumble and that’s a great way to cruise I’m guessing. I have only ever owned a Boston whaler .. but I borrowed quite a few cabin-less sailboats in massachusetts ocean. I like this platform
EZIYACHT - We Sail ....The Contessa 26, in my mind, is a one person boat...maybe two at most. There were, at the time, three in my little family. Just to snug I thought. Ended up getting an Endeavor 32....However my son, who’s now a month shy of 27 told me the other day that he’s thinking of getting a sailboat...I’ll be suggesting he look at the 26. We’re in Maine, so we don’t have a long season of sailing, but with a little heater in there he could have a lot of fun, and maybe give the old guy here a few sails aboard the boat...
Well Phil I think you made the right decision with the Endeavour - and it didn’t put the family off. Good luck with your son’s plan ;-) I’m sure you’ll have a lot of fun together
What would be the safest boat for a single hander to circumnavigate nowadays? Tania Aebi sailed on a Contessa 26, would this still be a good choice? Great video many thanks.
Hi Jeremy - what a great question, although not one I feel qualified to answer as I haven't circumnavigated solo! I would suggest putting this question out in multiple forums as I'm sure you'll gain some good insight. Essentially however I'd suggest a sturdy, well proven yacht that sails well to windward. And something with sufficient 'creature comforts' to suit your individual needs. I see many people still opt for yachts up to around 30ft, over rigged and incredibly robust. There are so many prototypes and purpose built racing machines...the choice is ultimately yours - and of course that would be based on your budget too. Good luck!

I owned that boat for several years in Dana Point, CA. Loved it.
Great video, thanks. A tip for obscured compass glass, polish with a cloth and toothpaste.
Stunning little boat with lots of room inside ;)

It's true .It's one of the best small yachts ever made.
Just watched a video that had this boat. It was a guy going to Hawaii and back. He met up with a couple sailing her.
Video was called "Alone Together "
@@donaldducks3916 yess. I knew I recognized the name.
That’s what brought me here too!
Thanks for sharing - I think I’ve seen it. She’s a well traveled little vessel that’s for sure!

Always fun in little boats :-) thanks for your comments.
Excellent!
They're not "pilot berths." They are quarter berths. The rear quadrants, port and starboard, of a vessel are called the quarters.
Came very close to buying one of these as my first cruising sailboat...still look longingly at them.
What stopped you Phil?

Beautiful Boat
I can feel her heartbeat..
Contessas have great cockpits 👍
A dream. Only Contessa I've seen with the sink on the port side. Is that a Canadian thing?
Watching in Ireland. You sound like you are long way from home?
She's a great ambassador for your country. What a beautiful feminine figure she's got! I would find it very hard to resist ravishing her.
What a life!

Maybe a little detail more: Price?
Hi Peter, the ask price was AUD$22,000. An offer was agreed only days after listing as she was a very popular little yacht. Thanks for the feedback.
How much did she sell for..or were asking ? 🤔 lovely boat
Hi John please email us as we don't disclose this data over RUclips. Tnks.
So random I was just reading about this boat. If it was in Florida I would by it. The head room is 5"10 under the high part of the cabin right?
Actually it’s about 5’8” at the highest point.
@@harbrbum Hi just read your post yes. I would be interested.
Nice
Very nice indeed. Like the boat too.
Indeed!
How much price
Vessel has sold.
Are you trying too sell that boat?
Any more 26s or 32s on the market at the moment?
Ya in Ontario Canada
Great lakes is were they all come from.. Most never seen saltwater.
The Boat Project of your are interested, I know of a 32 in the Sthn Hem...
@@eziyacht is it on the market?
The 35 is superb too.
I believe a Contessa 26 has a pair of quarter berths and no pilot berth.
This is correct.
A bit slower with the camera would help!
Whats your accent?
It's British. I would have thought the cheerio at the end was clincher🤔
@@53glowe 😂 i was thinking that but when she said batteries i thought maybe she were irish , sorry
