I live near Oxford and used to work there, whilst there are some nice bits, most of it is meh. From where I live I prefer to take the train East to London than North to Oxford.
The Lake District was preserved by the famous children's Author Beatrix Potter (See Peter Rabbit) who bought 40,000 acres of the land and left it to the nation, creating the National Park.

England is amazing. You can go inside homes from the 15th century and walk the same paths as Romans. You can see the nature and countryside that inspired Tolkien and visit the church where Crusaders are buried. I've even personally been in Anne Boleyns room and seen the writings in her book of prayers. You can visit places that changed the course of history, like where Thomas Becket was slain in a cathedral or see the Coronation Chair from 1300s. You can visit the Roman Baths and Anglo Saxon treasures, or just enjoy cobbled streets with a pint by the fireside in a pub. 🏴

I recommend that you visit avebury henge you can actually get to touch the stones. Royal Bath Spa, is worth a day in its own right especially as you can spend time in Thermaebatspa and bath in the natual hot spring mineral waters.

Perhaps it's worth adding that the video showed a glimpse of Chester Racecourse, which is the UK's oldest surviving horse racing circuit, and that the nearby Chester Zoo is one of the UK's most popular visitor attractions in its own right (and a personal favourite from my childhood)? Chester is a very pretty city indeed.
London is fast becoming a no-go area not just for Brits but tourists also. This video isn't a good representation of Enland. They missed off the cotswolds, Cheddar Gorge, The Yorkshire Dales, Cornwall, The Peak District, Devon. Stonehenge is a very interesting site historically, but after you've seen some rocks standing in a circle, that's it.

The utube video, 10 best places to visit in England was terrible, there medieval and Roman buildings all over England, Canterbury is one of the original top ten places to visit in England. Brighton was shown, but the did not show you the old town or the palace just a view of the sea front. The whole video was artful. guys just to let you know and your are right about london, with the new and the old, yes they have put some big bulidings in, the shard, the walkie talie building, but to ge planning, they had to have have a floor for the public and free, yeah you have to book somethimes, to go to the sky gardens and so on, but its free, and gives you 360 view of london, instead of paying for the london eye

There are much better videos which actually show you what they are describing when they are describing it. Most of the time here what was shown either wasn't what they were talking about or wasn't identified at all. At one point talking about medieval remains while showing the entrance to a shopping mall!
Why visit londonistan it does have history yes but there are a lot of places throughout the uk where the history is as impressive if i werea tourist of uk londo istan would be the last place id visit in fact id avoid it.
That is not true. Where we live is beautiful. Lovely villages with ancient churches, houses with thatched roofs,extremely old houses all still lived in. The nearest town is steeped in history with many original buildings. Narrow streets and country lanes. Quintessential English. All depends where you live.

The city's of the UK resemble Beirut, due to Governments and councils doing nothing they have declined and look like the city dump, i don't even think they have street cleaners anymore. Now due to poverty and flooding this country with illegal immigrants most places are NO GO AREAS, along with what is now being called caravan city ( many people who cannot afford to live ), so many places look like 3rd world locations. This country is no longer the UK i remember growing up, and it's only going to get worse. Sure the only places left are in the countryside, but they will all follow suit as time goes on. Enjoy your peace and tranquillity while you have it.

Oxford was only an hour away. We went there many times for sightseeing, shopping and eating. Beautiful city. The university is huge!!
