- hello, here's my lock screen & home screen customization and a tutorial on how i do it-- so that you can also personalize your phone to your liking!

-- troubleshooting --
(a) iphone dock transparent icons: 5:50
»» if you get the message "unable to paste content" on the Canva app when you try to paste your sticker onto the design, press "got it" and then try pasting it again in the same way. it should work the second time!
»» if you don’t have the sticker feature on the iphone, you can use the “background remover” feature on Canva (use the free Pro trial if needed) to remove the background of your picture. still use the same process of setting the background color of your logo design based on whether you have dark mode on/off. if you're using a desktop/laptop, send the finished image back to your phone.

(4/11/24) Canva now doesn’t support the paste option of an image with the background removed by the iPhone feature. There may be other apps that can use to remove backgrounds & you can upload that to canva instead. If you still want to use Canva only, you can upload the original image to the document and use a free pro account trial (7 days i think) to remove the background (it’s a feature that only comes with the pro account). You can also just simply use icon images provided for free in Canva. I’m sorry I don’t have more solutions as of now!
Top Widgets & Widgetopia apps have also changed since I filmed this. I currently use Widgetsmith & iScreen to make widgets right now. I think apps are constantly updating or changing from free to paid, so you should definitely search for current widgets apps in the App Store and it should essentially be the same steps for customization**

@@rishikasingh3379 i agree, that pop up really is annoying :/ the only thing apple that has done so far is making the banner go away a little bit faster now lol. unfortunately it's still gonna pop up though!

I tried using the widgetopia app for my lock screen widget, but the widgetopia app doesn't pop up in the list of widgets for me to choose from :(

thank you!! go to the lock screen widget section, then search up "moon phase". it's nice bc it updates regularly with the actual current moon phase :) it was a free widget when i downloaded it, hopefully it still is!

hi!! unfortunately i don't think you're able to remove the shortcut notification anymore. i was also looking at youtube videos on how to remove it, but it looks like apple updated it where you can't do it anymore. hopefully they'll let us in the future.. i know it's really annoying! thank you so much for watching! ❤
How do you get the icons at the bottom without using a shortcut to open an app?
As far as I know, you can't change the picture of an icon without using the Shortcut :/ so this is the only way i'm aware of !
hi trisha! thanks so much for the helpful video :) recently got a 15 pro max and wanted to customise so this was great. just one question tho! when i try to copy the sticker onto canva, it doesn’t work and says “content unavailable to paste”. do u know how i can fix this? please let me know
hi!! unfortunately canva no longer allows you to paste a sticker onto canva anymore :( i wrote other possible solutions on my pinned comment (it should be the top comment), but that's all i know for now tho-- so sorry! thank you so much for watching & enjoy your new phone!!
Hi I have a question when I customize my picture it works but I have 2 apps now. The customized one and the original. Is it supposed to be like that or is there a way to fix it? Btw great video ty
hi! sorry for the late reply! yes you'll end up with 2 apps: the original one and the "shortcut" one that you made with a new picture. if you delete the original one, that means you're actually deleting the actual app itself & you won't be able to access it through the new shortcut one you made, so i just group the original ones to a different page after the homescreen! thank you so much for watching & commenting!

hi samantha! the top widget app actually hasn't been working for me anymore! 😔i've also had some people comment that they can't access it anymore as well. i'm sorry i won't be able to help you with that. i'm pretty sure other widget apps have some form of a to-do list that you can customize! i haven't gotten around to finding a new one yet. thank you so much for commenting & watching! ❤

hi! :) i go on pinterest and search "phone icons" and they usually pop up for me! you can even search different themes there like "minimal phone icons", "y2k icons", etc. thank you for watching!

you hold ur screen and go to the top left corner and click the plus then look up widgetsmith. if you have more questions feel free to ask

hi courtney! you can download the wallpaper from my flickr link: flic.kr/p/2oaetwR you might have to use a computer/laptop tho - just press the down arrow to download it in the original size. i kinda made it wide so that anyone can adjust it by zooming in/out. as for the icons, just go to Pinterest & search up "iphone icons", then a bunch of icons with white backgrounds should pop up!

How did you put the ❤ tuning out < in the bottom of your Lock Screen ?
hii! i created a new custom "Focus" which should be a feature already available on the iPhone! i put "tuning out" as the name of the Focus and selected the heart as the icon (however i don't see the heart available anymore right now). please let me know if you have any other questions! i hope this made sense!

they had to redo top widgets and make another app. one thing I dislike is that on the new one ( iscreen ) u can’t change the border of stuff into a image, they need to fix it that way I can have two colors for my clock border 😭
i know app updates can be annoying sometimes when they keep changing things! i always have to check for new widget apps that fit what i'm looking for 😭

Hii! I might be able to make a tutorial in the future! I don't think the way I do it is that great tbh lol, but I'll type it out for now. I use Canva & select the Instagram story template when you create a new design. Then I just upload a picture & insert a text but I make sure everything is a little bit smaller than usual bc the phone zooms the final image in when you make it your wallpaper! So sorry Hopefully it kinda makes sense

Maybe you might not answer since this video is kinda old, but I had the app top widgets but then it stopped working so I deleted it a while back and then I tried to get it back, but it’s not on the App Store anymore. Although there are similar apps like it or knockoffs they aren’t the same as the original. So, do you still have the app?

How did you get the first widget on your Lock Screen with the dots
it’s from the widgetopia app-> go to the Lock Screen section and search 5 day weather, then it should be the free one on the right. even tho it shows as clouds on the app, it turned out as little dots instead when i added it to my Lock Screen for some reason :)
when I downloaded Top Widgets everything is in Japanese or Chinese, I don’t really know what language it is, but I don’t know how to read it and it’s making it really difficult for me to find things. Can somebody help me change the language…

I keep getting a message that says unable to paste content. We don't currently support the ability to paste content from outside of Canva. Do I need to download icons strictly from canva?
i think it’s bc canva updated, so you can’t do that paste option with the background already removed now. i think there should be other apps that have a free background remover, but if you still want to use canva - you can upload the original image to the document and use the free pro account trial to remove the background (it’s a feature that only comes with a pro canva account, but they provide a 7 day free trial). you can also just use icons from canva as you said too. i’m so sorry it if it might seem more complicated now!! (any other viewers pls feel free to comment solutions!!)
I am not sure if you will reply as I am really late to watch this video but to decorate the lock screen is it still available? For me it is not showing me any option to do that. I am not sure if it is because I am using android.
hello! this tutorial is for an iphone, so it's going to be different if you have an android! there's definitely other videos that can help you with an android :) i'd search up "how to customize android lockscreen" and maybe add what model phone you have.

hi! you can't delete the apps bc you're basically making a shortcut to them, so i store the apps away in an album altogether or all the way to the last page :)

hello! the top widgets app is no longer available, but other than that- i'm sorry, i don't know of any other apps that may be available in the philippines. if you go to the app store, you can try searching "widgets" and there should be apps that you can choose from! thank you for watching and let me know if you have any other questions!!
how do you delete the icons? i did the shortcut one and i pressed delete but it still shows 😭😭do i need to restart my iphone for it to go away?

i need help, when i add icons to the iphone dock and change focus the same apps are still in the iphone dock
i'm sorry i don't know much about that to help you :( i think apps on the iphone dock remain the same when you change focus because they're on the dock. that's just how it is so far :\ apple should make an update where the dock can change also 😭 if one of your concerns is removing the red numbers (for example, seeing how many text messages you have), a temporary solution would be settings -> notifications -> go to the app (Messages, in this case) -> turn off badges. but then you would have to turn it back on when you want to see the numbers again!

hii! i think you can customize ipad lock screens, but you just have to make sure you have the latest iOS update for it! i haven’t updated mine yet, so i also can’t change anything rn

i put my customized apps on the first pages of my Home Screen and then place the original apps on another page to ‘hide’ them from my main screen. you can also group the original apps together
I recently downloaded the ios 16 and my app icons used to be transparent but now even with a white background and white widgets my phone automatically makes the background darker than my white widgets and i dont know how to fix that :((
