The feeling I got when Jamie hit the “oh oh oh oh” is the same feeling I got when I heard this song for the first time. Nostalgic. Simpler times man.

Exactly how I feel and I couldn't stop playing it last night
LITERALLY I GOT CHILLS READING THIS BECAUSE IT WAS MY EXACT THOUGHTS WHEN I HEARD IT. CRAZYYYY!

The little “Ohh oh oh” Jamie does before he sings really is the cherry on top

Jamie Foxx wasn’t lying 😂 we’ve heard him tell this story for years! Brilliant!
He actually kind of was. Because Jamie mentions that Kayne softly berated him for singing in a specific, old-school manner and that obviously never occurred in the clip. Jamie also mentions that he thought the song wasn't very good and would likely flop, but he seemed more than happy with the finished product here. Oh, and if I'm not mistaken, Jamie initially mentioned that this happened during a party that he threw.
@@SallyMankus130 in the doc they said they were at his house not sure if it was at a party or anything though.
Right. He been telling this story for years. Good thing the cameras prove him right. Right.
@@SallyMankus130 Well he was trying to get into the music business. And this is one of the ways by collaborating with new unknown artists. What do you want him to do tell him in his face its not good?
@@SallyMankus130 are u daft?? This is a short clip.. of course it's edited.. u wanted them to show 3 hrs of how they interacted.. 🤦🤦🤦
I love that Jamie tried to sing it his own way and Kanye fixed it 😂
This story was told in his interview on the graham Norton show
lol
You would think if that actually happened then it he would be included. Those just seemed like initial, warm up takes.
@@JustBree716 I know. Jamie has told the same story on various platforms about nine times. My point is that Jamie was embellishing to a very large degree. And what are you talking about? Cootie, the director, was literally recording essentially every min of the studio sessions for The College Dropout, which is why this doc even exists. As a doc director working digitally at the time, you shoot everything.
@@SallyMankus130 I wanted to see it😂😂😂😂😂
Kanye is a once in a lifetime artists whether you like him or not 💯💯
💯
🐐
there is a couple hundred of artists i can think of the top of my hat in the same era, so whether you think he's a genius or not, he aint "once".
@@maxmeier532 He's definitely a once in a life time artist. I always liked alot of songs by kanye but never really gave him the credit he deserves. He's produced so many elite and top tier beats, songs, and albums. This man has been in the game for 20+ years with multiple albums that have great songs and still is getting the attention of every age group. Not even em, jay z, lil wayne, 50 cent, etc was on fire this long. I think drake is up there as well for staying at the top and creating big time songs but he's only been going since about 2009 so kanye has pretty much 7 years on him.

Beat is just ridiculous I don’t know if we’ll ever get this type of organic feel with production again, but don’t get me wrong the modern day digitize beats with unique filters and layered drums are on a whole other level these days in itself which is pretty unprecedented as well, yet something about how those loops and samples came together by Ye, Blaze and No I.D. Just seemed all world captivating when you heard them for the first time
It wasnt just loops. He had musicians playing instruments over all his s7^^. Most of this modern music isnt organic because motherf^%%% are emailing vocals and s7&^%. Plus you got 1000 weak producers putting together an auto tune bs beat
@@dianevrules true but the plus side to todays beats is there’s absolutely no drag, minimal distortion and lossless sound in every compressed file so there’s pros with today’s technology but cons with the organic curation
@@Dynasty19 gotta look at hitek make beats. He mics instruments and records the sound
@@Dynasty19 sounds like the same shit that happened w modern video games. Too much emphasis on making songs with no drag and no distortion (aka emphasis on good graphics for video games) but no focus on the soul of the music. Kanye and what this era had in general was the last semblance of human heart being poured into art work instead of a heartless corporation controlling the art that gets put out. This doc so good, one of the best I've seen in awhile, so motivational... Ye's drive is totally incredible and it's no wonder he broke through as an all time great and now an icon...
The last dance came in second, this is the best i hope is more footage for more episodes.

I love that this was based off Kanye just letting Jamie free flow it and this was created 🔥🔥 still one of my favourite Kanye songs to this day 🔥
I'm a grown man but I dropped a tear now seeing how Kanye turned out. We keep saying "where's the old Kanye". Well this is the only way to reminisce about it.
It’s now completely valid to say I miss the old Kanye 😢
That first part of Jeen Yuhs was the best . I gonna keep replaying it.
There is no old Kanye. Stop disrespecting him
Wym the way he turned out? Exposing the industry and being woke af.
I'm all for throwing a monkey wrench in the machine but this is one aspect of the entertainment industry. I don't see Ye going after the private prison industry which has been feeding off gangster rap.

This documentary made me respect him so much more as a person. With his childish unique attitude you never woulda guessed this man put in the utmost work to stand where he is standing right now. The utmost
Same here. Honestly put a lot in perspective. Why he is how he is
Definitely I hope he get his wife I hope he continue to live his life word
Despite his antics, You would've never guessed? That's crazy
why not? that's exactly what I would expect. that childish demeanor is exactly what allows people to endure the kinda work it takes.
Same. Kinda felt for him, when people weren’t taking him serious or crackin jokes right in front of his face. Great documentary though.
Wow this documentary is brilliant I can't not believe how well it's done and how inspiring it is..yhats is withouth a doubt the best document of an artist in music period bro..coo de will be winning awards for this...what's crazy is I never realised how hard he had to grind to get there...he really was a made man before they open up the budgets for him man...dude put it all on the line to get to where he at...the way they highlight ye and mom relation and shown how tithe they were was brilliant mam. And once his released this album, he kept taking things to the next level
The pure genius of what goes on behind the scenes.
The fact he used that “Smokeyyy Robinsonnnnn” as the bridge is magnificent
I know an artist has to do what they want to/have to do, and forget about fanservice, but I really think the years when he was a writer/ producer to his first years rapping/writing/producing, are something special. I feel like there was a brief period where he was universally loved.
He is a genius, his artistic abilities are unmatched

The classic story Jamie talks about in his interviews. I'm glad someone got this on camera
kanye literally started from the bottom, getting beat from all the upper ups. i wish the ppl who hate his music or doesn't want to know anything about him at least get to understand his history

I cry every time I watch this. This documentary really put it into perspective of how big of a kanye fan I have been over the years without even realizing it. My iPod nano use to be filled with all his albums. Truly a treasure.
Kanye’s albums are a Time Capsule in peoples life’s. Specially the college dropout. Slow jams will be forever in my soul because that was the soundtrack to my very first kiss. I cherrish this album so much
iPod nano😂 definitively classic times! I had one too! Wish I could go back in time sometimes 😊
One can tell by his jersey that..he was dressed by his Mom.... DONDA FOREVER ❤❤❤❤
Keep in mind Kanye had to use Jamie's studio to complete this track b/c he was on a budget for studio time using his own money to create content for both songs and music videos at the time since the Roc were stalling him delaying the release of his debut after his accident. Kanye also helped to legitimize Jamie as an artist with his 1st hit being slow jams since he was respected as a comedic actor and stand up comic but not as a musician. This documentary is very inspirational for many it shows how believing in yourself when no one else does and continuing to be persistent can lead to great things.
The fact this was Mike Dean’s and Kanye’s first time working together is overshadowed. Little did they know they’d be working together for over a decade.
Ive already seen this part of the doc series. And the way kanye is rightnow i totally understand him now foreal doe.
