We fought many wars, we were invaded by Germany, Russia, Sweden and even the Mongols in the Middle Ages.
About 6 million people died during World War II, which constituted about 16-20% of the country's population.

In September 1939, after Germany's aggression against Poland 🇵🇱, the Kingdom of Tonga 🇹🇴 was one of the first countries to declare war on the Third Reich 🇩🇪 - and it did not stop there! At the moment when the world powers "hunched their tails" - avoiding confrontation with Hitler at all costs, an extraordinary gesture came from this island, more than sixteen thousand kilometers away. As part of a public fundraising campaign, the Tongan society bought three Spitfire fighters for Poland. 🇵🇱❤️🇹🇴

I watched this movie many times, but it showed the Swedish Deluge poorly or not at all. I recently read that for 17th century Poland it was a worse thing than everything later - partitions, world wars. The Swedes still have a lot of Polish treasures in museums - they were taken away in the 17th century, royal treasures... - cannot be recovered.

Unfortunately, without historical context, it is difficult for someone who is not Polish to understand this film. Briefly speaking, the video tells about the following events... Around the 9th and 10th centuries, small tribal states were established in the areas of modern Poland, which were united in the second half of the 10th century. In 966, Poland was baptized and abandoned paganism. Later, due to its difficult geographical location, it fought dozens of wars with its neighbors. It was the Middle Ages, sometimes we were attacked, sometimes we were attacked. In 1385, Poland and Lithuania united in a union, and in 1569 they signed a pact under which they became one state - the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. In 1410, we defeated the Teutonic Order, one of our greatest enemies at that time, at Grunwald. In 1683, Poland set out to relieve Vienna besieged by the Turks and, thanks to the charge of the Polish cavalry, saved Western Europe from Islamization. In the 16th century, Poland was the largest country in Europe and one of the most powerful. Some historians call this time the Polish Empire. Back then, the political system was based on far-reaching democracy among the wealthiest people - the nobility, headed by the king. At that time, it was the most liberal regime in Europe. Unfortunately, it led to corruption of the nobility, which resulted in the oppression of the lower social classes and the weakening of the state. As a consequence, Russia, Prussia (Germany) and Austria partitioned Poland in 1772-1795. Poland disappeared from the world map for 123 years and regained independence only after World War I. Unfortunately, soon afterwards came World War II, which began with the attack of Germany and Russia on Poland and the occupation of our country. After the war, despite Poland's enormous merits in fighting with the Allies, Great Britain and the USA betrayed Poland at the Yalta Conference and left it under the rule of the USSR. It was only in 1989/1990 that Poland freed itself from communist rule.

Nah, ww2 was when the nah zi and the soviet invaded poland. Even this animation already depicted that.
But, the west wanted you to leave out the last part.
Cuz, british and france just declared war on germany but not to soviet. They are always double standard.
And it seems working well. You mentioned "germany trying to invade poland". You left out the soviet part there.
Why dont you watch the movie "Katyn" (2007)? You ll understand of how bad the soviet allies back then. By then you can tell whether they were the same or even worst than the nah zi.
I feel like poland is always the first victim in european biggest conflict.
Back then with nah zi and soviet.
Now because of being the member of eu.
Putin once said, without russia, whats the meaning of the world. Thats scary. For the worst scenario, it means he is willing to destroy the world for his country.
If anything very bad happened to that country, he wouldnt mind to release all of their nukes.
When the war starts with the rusky (i fell like, its just matter of time. But i hope it aint gonna happen during my life spin). Again, polish will be at the front line.
The british and the american will always enjoy their tea and coffee (specially american) to the least before the war coming to their main (is)lands.
Finland also makes mistake by joining eu. Unless, they had been in dispute with rusky (the continuation of ww2), just like uki this whole time.
They had been playing smart by being neutral. But i guess their new generation aint that smart. Now, they ll be a new front line.
Tho, i hope they will withdraw themselves from eu just in time before bad thing happens.
Just like how they cut themselves from the nah zi and made peace with the soviet. So, the soviet didnt have real reason to occupy finland.

You need to see the history of Serbia. Serbs are the second nation in the world that lost the same number of people in both world wars as Jews. During WW1 1,300,000 people and during WW2 Croatian Ustasha in the Quisling puppet "Independent State of Croatia" under the patronage of Nazi Germany, an almost identical number of Serbs were killed, of which more than 850,000 civilians were killed in the notorious Jasenovac camp, which was even worse than the Auschwitz camp in terms of brutality and way of killing

August 23, 1939: Soviet Russia and Nazi germany sign the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact of non-aggression. As part of the document, they divide Europe between themselves, agreeing on which countries will remain in their respective spheres of influence. This act comes in violation of the independence and territorial sovereignty of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Romania.
September 1, 1939: The German army crossed through the border of the Polish Republic without a prior declaration of war. Poland becomes the first country to face Nazis in a defensive war.
September 17, 1939: USSR invades Poland in accordance to agreements made in the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, beginning the Second World War.
On March 5, 1940: By the decision of the highest authorities of the USSR, the NKVD executed at least 21,768 Polish Army officers kept as prisoners of war. The event, which violated international conventions, is later remembered as the Katyn Massacre.
Now you are doing the same in Ukraine.
Poland never signed the country's capitulation. The defensive war lasted until 1963, when, after Germany's capitulation in 1945, the fighting moved to the Soviet occupier.

Niemcy oddali to co nasze?! Kiedy?!
Sami musieliśmy sobie odebrać. Niewiele się udało.
Był nawet film amerykański z Georgiem Clooney [w roli reżysera, scenarzysty i jednej z głównych postaci] o tym "oddawaniu" zagrabionych dzieł sztuki - "The Monuments Men" ["Obrońcy skarbów"].
