I think the "Cold White Russian Reaper" vibe of the Rage Art is good, he isn't looking to style on the oponnent, just a cold russian hammer to the head. He isn't a murderer like Bryan (which have a pretty murderous vibe to his rage art), he's a CQC trained soldier, and this is pretty straight up showed off in his Rage Art.

@@Mr.Bababooey hope you have the same issues about Steve's reppuken, Hwoarang skywalking for 4 upward kicks then, against all the physics laws, mantaining momentum and being stable for a 1-2 seconds to windup a kick.

I dont mind nonsense bullshit in Tekken cause this always was a thing in the series but Dragunov T8 RA could had better cinematic direction on its tension and impact feeling. Like it feels that he hits harder on his average gameplay than on his super lol. But I don't think it's bad just like I said earlier. Just give him more two strikes on RA and we are good.
@@Mr.Bababooeythey could do your suggestion or just make the hits that are already in the animation more aggressive, like make him grunt more and make the camera shake more. That ought to make him more in character with the whole "white russian reaper" deal.

if they made the RA look like a security camera capturing the "disposing" of someone in a cold back alleyway, it would have been more effective with less thought.

I really quite like his Rage Art. It's no nonsense, and fits his theme of being the cold white reaper of death. I do wish that instead of a frosty version of his 1+2 I would have loved a frosty version of his FF+3.
About the wall combo, Every character can re-splat like that using any bound and pretty much every character has been given a wall combo. So while it does look awesome, I do not think it is stronger (or weaker) than other characters wall combos.

At first I was annoyed that they were dishing out blue sparks to everyone but after watching this trailer I don’t mind as much. Assuming that it’s there for good execution on iWR2 and what i can only assume is iFC1,4 it isnt too bad.
I think his rage art looks good with the snow visuals, not so sure about the ice breaking effect, it looks a bit weird. And his new VA is probably the best from the entire cast as of yet imo, as good as if not better than Reina
I think its the same voice actor, they probably made the VA take a different approach to make him sound different

And yeah, knowing sambo, you got to be grateful that Bandai Namco actually made his Rage art somewhat appealing, despite you may disagree with that. The most effective way to disable the opponent would be a BIG kick to the head while enemy is down. But that would be too brutal even for a fighting game, because after such a kick, enemy won't get up, and will surely go to hospital, if you miscalculate the power.
I just realized, in the final combo before the Rage Art when Drag does the Heel Kick combo starter, Victor is already in his Auto Parry Stance that he used against Raven (for the Wall Combo in his Xter Video).
That potentially means that Victor's Auto Parry only works on lows unlike Azucena's Liberator Stance that auto parries Highs and Lows...

Correct me if I’m wrong, but SAMBO is about taking out your target as quickly and efficiently as possible since it’s self defence without a weapon. When I first saw the Rage Art before playing Dragunov, I didn’t like it. Now that I’ve played Dragunov and learned a bit about SAMBO, it’s sooooo much better LOL

@@Ajaylix Everything before the final move is a bit different. Dragunov is not a flashy character, to me this is fitting, I'd have prefer for it to leave ice on the floor after the hit or something like that, but that's it.
The ice thingy covers all the impact, which is completely unfitting for Drag. It looks like they censored it. If he for example smack the opponent into the ice and break it maybe it will be around 7-8/10 RA.

Dude, you are talking absolute garbage about rage art 😂 I was not impressed by it at first, but in a slow-mo, apparently, you can see all the details. As he is an "ice cold" and kinda of "winter soldier", having some control over snow and ice makes some sense, as much as Mishima family having lightning powers. Honestly, you're too picky about "angles" and shit. It is not the greatest, but it is not the worst either. My only issue is, that it doesn't show an actual 2-hand hammer hitting enemy unless you have a super-slow-mo. But apart from that, all makes sense. Winter soldier from ice cold Russia using 2-hand hammer smash with some ice properties. No fancy shitz, as his combat style is sambo. You don't do fancy shit tricks in that, no stomps, no allowing enemy to get up, so you can kick or punch them. Double hammer, effective af, if enemy stagerred and down. Sambo is all about efficiency. Name on its own suggests it - Self defence without weapon, in russian. So it's not for show off things, but for efficiency, and Bandai namco captured it very well. It is just you don't understand the concept of the combat style, hence thinking rage art is lackluster. 😂 Only problem, they could make a better shot, that's it😅
The ice shatter effect blocking the final Rage Art hit is a poor decision, should have shown it pummeling them into the ground instead

In T7 my win percentage against Drag is lik 10%. I always hear top level players say he's trash, but I have never been able to figure him out

Dragunov really gives off the vibes of being a Tekken 3 character with the lack of dialogue, despite being introduced so much later, I dig his intros, win pose and model, I think they've done a good job, even though I'm never going to be interested in playing as him personally.
Always value your health and Dragunov is more cooler in tekken 8

It's cool that almost all his moves can cancel into sneak. Even the orbital is outta sneak which is nice 🙂
I think I realized why the rage art feels worse than the T7 one, it's because it lacks the "creepy" factor of that one, he doesn't just walk up to you with murder in his eyes.

Ohhhh the FC1 is like a solution for moves that makes Drag FC cuz in T7 if you do 4,4 it would leave you on FC and to do a d+2 you have side step cancel from FC and thats hard. Now he's given a FC option that works the same as d2
