I worked for Prince, Motley Crue, AC/DC, Metallica, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. This is a world class band.

Welcome to the world of Wagakki Band. Not just a professional band, but also performance art at its best.
You have over 100+ songs to play around with. No two songs are the same, all are good. Metal, rock, jazz, Pop and ballads. They also have a number of cover songs from Vocaloid recordings, including their biggest hit Senbonzakura which is a cover of Hatsune Miku. (Hatsune MIku is not a real persion).
Homura (flame) is an instrumental Machiya brought with him from previous solo projects (he uses the Noh mask on those songs).
Akatsuki no ito (thread of down) is also written by Machiya and is a very important song for WGB as the audience uses it as an encore chant. Apart from the shigin part at the beginning, the song has only one verse that can be repeated endlessly.
Shigin singer, poet, pianist and sword dancer Yuko Suzuhana is the driving force behind WGB. The band was founded by Yuko Suzuhana in 2012. They have released 6 albums 2 EPs and a number of singles and live albums.
    Wagakki means Japanese musical instrument
WGB is an 8 piece band
    Yuko Suzuhana - Shigin, vocals
    Machiya - guitar, vocals (arrangement)
Beni Ninagawa - tsugaru "shamisen" (three strings)
Kiyoshi Ibukuro - koto (25 strings)
    Asa - bass (Vocaloid producer)
Daisuke Kaminaga - shakuhachi (Bamboo flute)
    Wasabi - drums
    Kurona - wadaiko (Traditional drums)
You just have to hear "Kyoukasuigetsu+Tsukini sakebuyoru" from React tour 2019 or "Hakushukassai" from Daishinnenkai 2018

This song is about a future where we can respect each other, be at peace and laugh with each other! I hope you get this song! It is a song with that feeling. I think there are many people who agree Japan this interpretation.

Not sure what the hell i just watched but I’m smiling. They almost lost me when the singer first chimed in but when she starting the main singing it grew on me.
Very interesting. And yes. That jethro Tull dude on the flute thingy was going crazy.

Their performance of Kyokasuigetsu + Tsukini Sakebuyoru also serves as the band's calling card. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/aWlMc-pbDc8/видео.html

Wagakki Band is ‘metal’ in the same way a katana is ‘metal.’ Elegant in its simplicity, sleek, deceptively deadly. And, like a katana, Wagakki Band is stronger for its composition; traditional instruments and vocals supported by modern instruments.

Everyone starts with this one or _Senbonzakura,_ but they're not even close to their best. Check out _Guernica_ or _Hakushu Kassai._ Epic songs. Also _Sun Wheel_ and _The Sun that Never Sets._

It is tradition for Japanese audiences to not show boisterous reactions to artists. It is considered to be very rude. They do react stronger to foreign bands, largely because they know these bands don't understand this tradition. Wagakki Band is most likely the most popular band in Japan. They were chosen to be the opening act at the recent Olympic Games in Japan, but Covid caused to cancellation of that. Too bad because if they had played. they would be world renowned right now. They are incredible, especially in concerts. Please play more of their music and I guarrantee you will be amazed.

Seems to me like a Japanese version of Nightwish

...and then, Beni steps up with her Tsugaru Shamisen...and a whole new world opens up.
