Good video. I have been lucky enough to talk to dozens of ww2 pilots & the ones that flew this monster loved it. The 14 could hang on its prop & climb to 20000 feet in five minutes. Definitely the ultimate ww2 prop fighter!
Years ago I was talking to XIV pilot who on the 1st May 1945 shot down two times FW190 D9'S in the space of a minute. One of these pilot was the great Heinz Marquart (hope I've spelt it right). According to the Spit pilot they went into a steep climb to try & get away, worst thing they could have done against the XIV. Eric 'Winkle' Brown said the two best piston fighters of the war were the D9 & Spit XIV so I guess he had a point. Definitely if my numbers come up tonight I will be heading to Duxford to put myself on the two year waiting list for one!
A nice video but please use the auto-stabilize feature YT gives you. And why not cut out most of the 1st 4 mins waiting for the plane to startup and taxi out? There's some other times where not much is happening so why not cut it out. A good video can be made to be a great video!
Why would one show about 4.5 minutes of nothing of interest whatsoever at the very begining of this video, sounds like merely a matter of inexperience from behind the camera plus who ever did the editing, more bullshit inexperience!!
I hardly claim to be a professional… I filmed this when I was 15, of course it wasn’t great. If you don’t like it then don’t watch it.. simple as that. Just uploading videos from my first day out at Duxford. Thanks for the fantastic comment..

wow thats epic, i would love to meet a WW2 spitfire pilot. really goes to show how much power the griffon has.
