    Great job (as usual) Jeff.
I really miss Heathkit but the memories of my kit building are still with me.

Nice to see a Heathkit video up Jeff. I guess with all you have covered it's getting hard to find Heatkits you haven't. Great job as always!

I built one of the later versions with the blue and white case in 1977 and still have it. If I remember right, it cost about $80.

Jeff, would you happen to have a meter for this unit. I have this unit, but the meter doesn’t work. Any help is appreciated.

I don't have a spare meter. It will be hard to find as it is a center zero meter - 10-0-10 uA. You may be able to find one on eBay and adapt it to fit the case.

I am thinking of buying the BK 520B transistor tester how good are they?
    Anyone know?
    Thank you

Hi, thanks for the video! I have a Heathkit IM-36 too, looking at your video I noticed that my potentiometer diodes weren't installed. could you tell me which model of the diodes. I just know they're silicon!! thank you very much!!

My unit was also missing the diodes across the meter, and others have reported this as well.
They aren't necessary for the meter to operate, but they protect it in the case of an overload.
The part Heathkit specified was an unusual G247 varactor diode.
A suitable part here would be the common 1N4001, which is what I used. Any 1N400x series diode should work.
