I’m class of 21 as well. I live about 70 miles from the school so it was actually one of the few I visited before covid.

JHU has a bad social side but it is for those who have crazy ideas about Science and Tech and for those who have super top grades for MSC or other graduate programmes.
One can live without JHU the baltimore School out there.

It's funny because I got into Hopkins basically saying the opposite of what he's suggesting in my essay. I said in my general essay that I basically could end up doing anything after college because I'm interested in so many different things. I believe in myself and believe I have the hard work and perseverance to succeed anywhere doing anything. Unfocused but definitely had the emotion behind it. In my supplemental essay, I talked about failure, hard work, and teamwork.
Get into natural and actual cures. Expose the corrupt schools and medical industry that suppresses them.
Make an actual difference in this world rather than being a minion of your overlords the evil medical and pharmaceutical industry 🤷🏻♂️

@@esuonen I don't wanna make this a super long rant but I would say if you're gonna go make sure it is in one of the hard STEM fields that Hopkins is good at. I went for the rep but found my own department (psych) to be quite weak. Instruction was fluffy, little relevance to the field I was trying to enter. Profs usually don't care about teaching because research is a higher priority for them - lots of the work is done by TAs and stuff. Some don't even go to their own office hours. Most profs follow an absurd grading policy that deflates the grades. It is designed for you to fail but it's okay because the mean score was a 70% and your F just curved up to a B- congratulations. Like I said stick to their strong departments (premed, engi, etc) and make sure it is something you have a passion for and that you are prepared for a LOT of stress and bullshit.
Campus life is miserable. It's overpriced and overcrowded and there aren't many good dining options (though Charles Village has been expanding in recent years). Social scene is pretty awful. Most of the people at Hopkins are phony as hell and some of them are downright evil. Few of your "friends" here will remain life long friends.
I could go on - could honestly make this into a several page tirade but I'll spare you.

@@djrednitro4116 I’m sorry to hear that. have you tried asking for a revaluation of your financial aid forms? Johns Hopkins promises to meet students 100% financially where they need aid. Perhaps you can try calling them or taking to a financial advisor if you haven’t already. i hope it all works out. :)

This is my hospital.. I have stomach problems this is my favorite hospital I have ever been to! My surgeon is so nice!! Most of the nurses are nice some of them ee... but very nice hospital I know a lot about Medicine because I have gone threw a lot tubes everywhere stomach tube and other places let’s not talk about that.. and my heart I had a pickline into my heart and a huge tube went into my nose huge it was a feeding tube I think I had about 20 surgeries there!! I spent my Easter in there too and I got a dog in the hospital! I named it gage he is 200 pounds 😂😂😂 but I am fine now and have a ilinostmy bag and I might reverse it soon I am scared because if it does not work I might have to stay there for a month.. and go threw went I went to and get it again stay in the hospital for a lot of time the most time I’ve beeen in a hospital was 4 months that was.. a little much I had about 20 Ivy’s at that time in 4 months and I stayed in 9 and 10th floor I had a beautiful view I stayed in the hospital bed for along time because I was so sick and when I got up.. I fell and was shaking and it hurt my stomach I had a tube in my.. ya know it was bad

I got in a master but tuition is 50k I can't pay it so I haven't taken any course so far, each course is about 4k
Plenty of grant money out there. Do your research and apply. Sometimes younger kids astonish me. You can use your phone for all kinds of tick tok, games and music, but why not use it to seek out grants/free money. Lots of grant money goes unclaimed. Do your research.

I want to apply so bad but I have a strong feeling I won’t get accepted. Even if my sat score is high, I’m in state in Baltimore, Maryland. They rarely accept people in state.
This is really a strange Policy because instate Citizens ought to be accepted without any other Condition.

JHU is the most weirdest School in America.Other Schoold are far better.
Actually UK and Europeah Schools are much more better than the US or Canadian Schools.
JHU is one of the worst Schools to apply into the USA because it just has a bad vibe about it.
Baltimore really sucks and does not offer a Social side like you said.
