- We went to the Carter's store on 125th street in Harlem to shop because they were having a 40% + sale. There were lots of cute clothes and good deals. Now she has her own little capsule wardrobe haha... And the kids love a treat so we stopped by Krispy Kreme and got a dozen donuts. Thankfully in our family of 13 a dozen donuts doesn't linger around long! #largefamilylife #shopping #nyc

Nette is so beautiful and calm. Mo is such a good listener. While in Carters, you told him to stay with you, he did and even when he saw the toys he asked before he left your side. All your kids are so helpful and kind to each other. All, a tribute to great parenting. ❤ 🙏

Oh my gosh, the kids sharing the donuts is amazing! Not a single squabble even when there were 2 hands on the same donut. Inspiring! Love seeing how you raise your family in NYC. It's so interesting.

I love how patient your children are with each other. I know it’s probably not like that all the time. But, in the store when Moses was dropping outfits, the bigger kids didn’t yell and huff they just picked up the clothes and put them back. And Mo’s little “yeah” gets me every time. 😁

I love how you let the kids pick out clothes for their little sister . Also when kids are small, we always went to second hand or childrens consignment stores , because they never wear clothes out before growing out of them!

You're a very good mom, Amber! Now, I can have a favorite and it's Enoch, he reminds me of a little Amish boy, he's so sweet and grateful, even your little baby is chill, I think it's genetics and what you're eating. I notice the one thing you do keep private is your home schooling.
Yes and I do somewhat wonder why we never get to see a glimpse of the process. I do wonder what the setup is like because of course there's little kids that could end up being distracting for the older kids so I wonder if they do it in their own room although I don't think they have any desks in their rooms or if they just settle around the kitchen table. I do hope one day a video will be made of that.

Mo was good at picking out things for netta he was so well behaved and he wasn’t run a muck when he is in stores and Elijah is so good with netta and the oldest is so good with all his brothers and sisters

Moses is a good shopper! He knows where to go to find the best price is too! Your children/young adults have beautiful qualities- very independent and abled along with loving and caring toward each other. Really nice to see. Josiah is so tender with baby Neta and so helpful with Mo. A beautiful balance with his intellect. And sweet Anna took charge at Krsipy K and wheeled the stroller all over Harlem with such confidence. A very special family.

My twin sister and I spent a week visiting New York City from Maine and we were so excited to run into your family in the subway. We got to see Mark, Anna, Chloe and Pearl! We had such a fun time in New York and running into your family was one of the highlights.
Oh I love shopping for baby clothes. Even though my daughter is 27 ,I still buy cute baby clothes that I find on sale. I then donate them to the women's shelter or WIC office.

Absolutely love NYC, especially shopping in Harlem it reminds me how the south side of Chicago used to be with all the stores. And it's a must we eat our soule food in Harlem when we come.

I love Carter’s! You can get really good deals there! For my granddaughter if her mom or I find something cute in bigger sizes if it’s s dad sale we buy it in a bigger size s. I love that straw hat for Melody. It is absolutely adorable on her❤

Knowing how tight of spaces most New York city homes are dealing with, I was wondering if you would be willing to share how you are able to stowaway all of your kids, clothing, instruments, and everything else. In comparison to other areas where large families are living, spaces at such a premium for you I noticed that you can only shop enough groceries for a week or so. At a time, it’s a marvel, how much you all do.
Yes! Things are definitely tight around here and we have to get creative! Noah stores his double bass in the hallway and we have a folding Murphy bunk bed in a couple of the kids’ rooms. We just try to stay pretty minimal when we can.

Yes! 125th is a little wild but there are police everywhere up and down the street and in the shops which make it safer.

The clothes and toys that they have are amazing and it might be worth giving them a try. I looked it up in New Youk and you seem to have quite a few around there. Hope you can find one the you can use.

I have to say I'm a little intrigued about you wearing a summer floppy hat in the winter. I can't imagine it actually keeps you warm as it doesn't have the proper material. I'm guessing it's more for fashion?
It’s mostly just to keep the rainy drizzle off in the winter which will randomly start any moment and then my hair fluffs out like Einstein haha. I think I need a winter version of the hat!😅
