- I went with a friend (seen playing the organ in the video) and one of his friends to this older lady's house (JoAnn Evans) today to play on her 3/18 Wurlitzer theater organ.
This is not a digital/electronic organ.
She has an ENTIRE Wurlitzer theater organ in her basement.
IT SOUNDS PHENOMENAL!
I've never experienced anything quite like it before.
The video doesn't convey the massive sound too well.
If she was my neighbour I would be over every day to play this big theatre organ and try out everything it had to offer. Who wants to have fun playing this great organ? I do!
It is amazing that a Wurlitzer theater organ could be installed in a private residence. The homeowners had to figure out where to place all of the pipes.
Swell pedal for pipes in separate chamber? Other than opening the door? Thanks. My father worked as a pipe organist for 59 years. I loved him and miss him.

It’s actually in a pretty populated area, but the neighbors love the organ and often come to public concerts.
Having heard many home installations here in the UK, I can pretty much confirm that sound traveling to neighbours is almost non-existent when the installation has been carried out properly.
@@OrganMusicYTI frequent this installation (and was present during this recording), and it’s very well done despite the chamber sharing an exterior wall of the house. The surrounding neighbors love what sounds they can hear, but that isn’t much thanks to very copious insulation.
Wish it was in my house!
