Thanks! Intresting test. Main difference is eq (amount of high frequencies and presence), in nux there was a lot of presence and highs, in real SLO was all eq in middle. So i thought where is more presence there is nux and that was correct) And nux sound here has less body (low-mid freq), maybe because of "master" setting is to low. In mix B sounds better for my ears
Unit B has more bass in the tone, but that's just an EQ thing so I don't know. They're both close and if these weren't A-B'd played back to back like this I wouldn't be able to pick out the difference.
Leo, wow! I guessed B, and was correct, judging from the sound through my AKG earbuds which came with my phone. In B, are we hearing your Celestion IR as well, or mic'd Celestion? As always, thank you for the fun and informative videos!
Nux did well - they sound close - but there was something in B that made me think it was the real on. Are you able to share (QR code?) the settings you used on the NuX for the Soldano? I can't seem to get mine sounding that good.
hi again Leo. Can you try NUX Mighty Plug Pro connect with aux bluetooth or pc speaker? it ok or not I want to listen sound can you make video for this. Thanks for all Leo
Hi Sarah, if I connect the Mighty Pro to a speaker and I record with a microphone, the tone is gonna be compromise by mic positioning, and it would depend by the quality of the speacker, etc. The tone you are hearing in the video is recorded via USB or connected via the audio out of the Mighty Pro to my audio interface and therefore is more realistic. Thank you for your suggestion and I will see what can I do when I'm back in my studio (I'm currently on holidays) Thank you once more and sorry if I cannot be more helpful currently.
@@LeoGibsonGtr thanks leo I have more bigsize amp. and smallest katana mk2 . i think it very big and very inconvenient. I see bluetooth speaker ex. marshall soundcore motion or aiwa retro it have full range speaker . I think it can use nux plug connect on it. you can use mic position on speaker for listen. I think it same bias fx/anplitube with pc spaker sound notbad but nux plug has mobility. thanks for all Leo. sorry about my englishskill .Im thailand fan.
additional record by mic. i think if you have far position from speaker and center (normal position it will near speaker). i think tone nearly ears heres. same live or concert record. i use zoom h1 to record it not bad and same ears about 70-80% thanks again
I guessed the first was from the Nux, and the second was the real...☺️ One question... do you have any tips, video or course on how do you do to achieve this organic tone that you seems to get in almost (or every) gear you bring to the channel? Congratulations and thank you for your work!
B! Edit after seeing the end of the video: They're very very similar, the real Soldano is more 3D-like and has more low mids and less harsh high-end but the MP pro sounds really good, Can you do the same comparison with a Clean Fender? like a Twin Reverb
@@LeoGibsonGtr Yes I don't know if I would be able to tell if I didn't regularly play the "real" one. Even cheap modelers these days are good. This is better than 2000s modeler plugins which where not very good.
I guessed B was the real Amp based on presence of low frequencies in the examples. It seems to me that Modelers typically hype upper frequencies and suppress lower ones. This may be useful in certain settings like recording, mixing, Studio. But, as far as listening to a solo track, or playing/guitar by itself, I don't like it. I've become a big fan of using real Cab Frequency Chart Specs on my HX Stomp Cab Block to get the kind of sound I like.
@@LeoGibsonGtr Brian Wampler informed me about the Cab Speaker EQs. Here are some specifics: Many "Guitar Cab Speakers," including Classics like the Celestion, have shocking steep high frequency cutoffs around 4-5kHz! The Celestion G12M Greenback has a Frequency Range Spec of 75Hz - 5,000kHz (based on the Chart at Celestion), and a steep High Cut dropping the volume from about 107dB down to about 77dB in a nearly straight line slope in the range from around 3.5kHz to 7kHz. I'm not sure if I calculated this right, but I think that is 30dB decrease in one octave! The Stomp Cabs have a high cut "default setting" at 8kHz. Depending on your use: Live, Studio, Headphone, etc. those settings could be good or bad. In general, I find the stock Presets to be way too bright. Lowering the High Cut is a good way to remedy that. Knowing this information has made it a lot easier for me to dial in Presets appropriately so they sound good through Monitoring Headphones, and feel more like a real Amp. It also makes dialing in all the other Blocks a lot easier.
I'm guessing, "B" is the real Amp. "A" sounds a little harsher (or "digital") for me. Real tubes give the Sound of the Amp some "Balls", that's what "B" stands for... 😜
They are both equal after digitalizing through youtube algorithms I guess. In the same room, with the ears close to the real source, should be easier...
I thought A sounded too harsh in the high frequencies, but I suspect a little EQ would leave them pretty close. So the NUX did well!
Hi Frank, thank you for sharing your findings!
I'm guessing B is real deal (without waiting till end to post). Both sound fantastic. That plug is Mighty! God bless and rock on 👍🎸😎

molto utile questa comparativa!!
qualche confronto anche sui puliti hai la possibilità di farlo? Perchè ho letto che è dove soffre di più il nux...

Unit B is real, Unit A is definitely modeling. I can tell because I own an SLO100 Copy amp which is my main amp and I am very familiar with the sound.

The Soldano seems to be the golden calf nowadays. Actually it is way overrated. Fizzy and weak in the mix and full blown it is a can of bees.
A is fake, B is real. The B had that oemph and head that driven full sound that only a tube amp can give
