Nice, Paul. I like the 1x3 mode, too, but for shots that don't have a lot of movement. The rolling shutter is sometimes a bit awful.
I agree you have to be quite organised with rolling shutter. Davinci managed OK here. But it would have been a lot easier with a tripod to lock off the horizontal and verticals.
Hi also 14bit raw with 4.8k is excellent
I'll have to try it out. As long as I can get 3 to 4 minutes continuous I'll be happy.
Yes 14bit works great, just filmed in 14bit 4.8k for Cole's (IMCE) up and coming Magic Lantern documentary. I'm excited to see what he's put together.
@@titaniumshell that sounds awesome! I have the 650D and I think the 4k 14bit is the most viable solution for highest res while getting continuous recording for my camera
What’s the best quality setting with unlimited recording ?
for continuous uninterrupted you can use 1080p you'll need to turn crop mood off, but leave raw on. I haven't left the camera long enough in this mode to see how long it records, it will easily do 5 minutes. I tend to chop up my footage as I shoot.
Im new to magic lantern… you upscale resolution of the vidéos on mov app. Or in davinc?
This is on a 4k timeline in Davinci. 3840x2160 because I was shot in 4.8k on crop mood the footage is actually slightly wider bigger 4k so no upscaling. But even if you shoot in basic 1080 mode on magic lantern the raw footage seems to scale nicely up to 4k from mlvapp or davinci.
Can you shoot continues in this mode? Do you have real time live preview while recording?
I've recorded five minute clips without issue, I haven't need to go longer yet. Yes it is real time preview.
@@titaniumshell do you have any focus assist while recording, focus peaking, zoom or something else? Can you have auto focus maybe while shooting with magic lantern ?
@@toxotis70 I shoot all manual for eosm. 700D is a new experience for me so I haven't had the opportunity to use AF, since I use mainly vintage glass.
@@toxotis70 I have focus peaking, zebras and histogram on prior to recording but since I have kill global draw on all dissappear on hitting record.
Why do it have some jitter ? Ive seen an another video that have the same things its weird it look like ibis on wide lens but on portion of the frame only
Stabilising in Davinci, I was shooting hands free with a 58mm lens on crop and unplanned. If I'd planned the video I'd of used a tripod.
@@titaniumshell Oh thanks I was asking myself if it was crop mood, thanks mate !
Nice. How you getting on in 12bit?
Haven't had any issues with it so far.
Whats the max resolution u get with 12 bit raw , i m new to MGL , thnx
I can get 5.2k in 12bit 2.35:1 aspect orange recording, but for reliable green I choose to shoot 4.8k. And I recently recorded green with 4.8k 14bit on eosm too. Note - I always have audio turn off when I shoot.
@@titaniumshell thnx for replying , what sd card do u recomend for 14bit raw on eosm ??
Sandisk Extreme Pro 128gb 170mbs or 200mbs.
Es reescalado? veo bastante perdida de nitidez, parece un 720p reescalado a 4.8K, no parece ser un 4.8K real, grabo en 2.5K y tiene mucha mayor nitidez que tu video, por eso es que lo pregunto.🤔
It's not rescaled. It's probably because I reversed the front element on my Helios lens. It makes the image a lot softer and can exaggerate the Helios bokeh.
@@titaniumshell Entiendo. A cuál Helios se le puede invertir el elemento frontal?
