@@shaggyplays5210 tbf, "skill gaps cause one sided-dominance" is one hell of a stupid reason for any change and makes a great bait. My take on the ferry changes are: Idk when he'll cover it but basically she gets a lot more saucy stuff, 236 property changes were really good imo, and the push back on 623m helps for sure. Above all, not getting nuked as hard has gotta be the best system change for her. But her overall dmg is still very low, which is made even worse by the rising ja nerfs giving mega scaling off high mix. Far normals no longer being aub also does let ppl just turn their brain off and reach the distance where ferry needs to guess right or die (between jump, roll or run in) much more easily. 22m can go either way. The higher arc at longer distances makes it easier to run under but also makes it harder to just outzone ferry. But yeah, it feels like she still suffers from the same issues regarding damage, inability to kill but still getting easily killed etc. The changes do balance out to be slightly net positive i think, but not by much and when u account for everyone else getting buffed, i think not much has changed for her this patch. Which sucks cos she srsly needed something to happen for her

Dash H leads to a f.L combo now but is no longer a safe sideswap L Whip has a sideswap now but has less range L/M DP buffed but who cares, you're still minus in reach of their normals M Geegee isn't strictly buffed, it's worse at controlling space but better on fullscreen oki M Hula Hoop has faster startup which makes spotdodge timings overlap with other moves, idk if it gives new combos but it probably does? The M/H/U Whip changes are all good, and the U Hula Hoop change. Losing 30-40% damage on j.L setups is fucking absurd though. As the other person said, it's possible Ferry comes out *slightly* ahead of where she was last patch in a vacuum, meanwhile almost everyone above her got big buffs.

Honestly, as a Zeta player I am really happy about the U skill damage nerfs. It means that now, to actually do damage with Zeta, you need to learn her actual non-U skill link combo theory. That makes me really happy. And honestly while I dont love some buff directions with Zeta. Mainly that now throw > forwardjump jH is a guaranteed safejump even in corner. And regarding what one anonymous chatter in the video said ("Zetas are gonna have to find new combos") dont worry dear chatter, we are never short on non-U skill link routing. In fact, posting combo videos on Twitter is a favorite pasttime of a lot of us lab rats. Some of the routing annoyingly doesnt work anymore, namely U skill refund punish routing, but we already have alternatives labbed and theres a lot of them.
Honestly a little sad about the U changes but it made sense cause it did do way too much damage but at the same time I don’t mind her non u combos are so fun

Having labbed it the changes mean that not only U skill link routes do roughly 2000-3000 damage less give or take but also U skill starter refund routes are dead. You will now be 66H punishing anything with non CH recovery.
The ultimate specials damage nerfs were expected, but also nerfing her pogo setplay on top of that is what I really dislike about the changes. I haven't tried the new changes yet though so I can't say how bad the pogo nerf is in practice yet.
@@Eldred91 Lowkey pogo wasnt even that good because of the existence of BC and the fact that they made jUU and jUUU not hit overhead in Rising. The utility of it as a combo tool and fshiki normal with meterless conversion potential is p nice though. I really dont mind losing it for a way to do the fshiki but convert meterlessly.
@@cronoz-sensei4259 The main issue I have with nerfing pogo is that it was one of the main ways I had to actually open people up since Zeta's pressure otherwise is really basic, and pogo was a fun tool for me to use in that way. I am not a high level player at all though (I hover around low S rank), and my basic way of pressuring still needs lots of polish. so admittedly I was also relying on pogo as a crutch in that way. But I can imagine pogo not being as potent at opening someone up at higher levels.
2B is still good at this game i still think she’s high tier she’s not close yet of being top tier the nerfs they gives her it can hurt for some 2B main put i can deal with it at least they gave her some decent buffs and i like it she’s still my favorite character to play with
She wasn’t even top five at launch when she was at her strongest. People forget she didn’t have a 66L, meterless invis reversal, or a good close range button in general so her defense was ass. She got two rounds of nerfs since then. The severe SKL gain nerfs so she can’t do SKL based specials nearly as much which limited her combo and neutral options besides the basic Then this one where they added SKL cost to double jump and delay land on top of nerfing 5M her best non SKL neutral button. What did she get in exchange for all of that? Some of her other SKL moves cost went down from 4 to 3 pips, she has orb followup after a throw, and Self destruct is easier + can be in a combo (which btw does about the same as her normal SSBA anyway so this is more for the costume change) Imo as a 2B player this is all still a net negative. Especially when some better characters got a light slap in the wrist
I was thinking about finally picking up the game because I thought Versusia looked really cool. But I’m also a little put off by the discourse around the patches. It sounds like the nerfs and buffs are just random.
Why would you care when Versusia is completely unrelated to the balance changes. The patch for the most part is actually good if you ignore the few head scratcher decisions. It’s mostly nerfs to top tier for most part and buffs to low tier for most part

She gets one punish off the over head only on counter hit with medium she loses a lot of damage but with what I can see she lost around 20% off it? Like uh the combo I do with it does 7770 since the bounce is high enough for 5M and can also do 5L into Close 5H but it’s gonna be hard to not hit combo limit instantly

That Djeeta wallbounce nerf is even worse than I thought it would be. You are forced to cut short to do any combo, and the full move is just corner carry combo ender. Compared to rest of roster he still was one of the best characters in the game and he had regular top 8 appearances. Him only winning one tournament is the weakest form of downplay for the character.

First two were deserved imo and I've personally always hated moves that activate automatically so I love the Yuel change too.
