  • RJ reviews the Longines Spirit in 40mm. A new addition to the Longines Sports collection. Inspired by the pilot's watches of the past, but a very modern watch when it comes to its movement with silicon balance spring and a power reserve of 64 hours. Also available in 42mm and as a chronograph. This 40mm version is available in three different dial colors (blue, grained silver and matte black). We kick off with the matte black version!

Longines is undoubtedly one of the best brands with more heritage in the horological world, pieces that were key tools for modern development, this piece is very well developed, a clear nostalgic journey.

this is a nice pilot / flieger inspired watch that has been purpose fitted for daily, civilian, non aviation use. It is a chronometer too which is always a good thing.

Nice review. Lovely clean piece. Considering the blue sunray. My first Swiss Watch was a Longines when I was at University. I’ve been through many brands since in my horological journey but I’m keen to revisit his brand for nostalgic reasons. Longines really push the value proposition envelope without being too crazy on price so perfect everyday watches you like to wear to death and enjoy as intended.

Love my Longines Saint-Imier Collection Chronograph. Great, classic brand with some jawdropping watches. Good value for affordable prices. Sadly little bit overlooked by many watchfans, god knows why😄

Nice collection. Very tasteful. Classic vintage-styling but not overly so. Nice job Longines, and RJ!

Very happy with mine. I wear it all the time. Love it. The dial is superb. So's the lume. Mine running to +1 second every 10 (yes 10) days. So better than my Seiko Hi Beat, Rolex 3235 or Omega METAS. Only Spring Drive beats it for accuracy in my collection. Only constraint I see would be lug-lug. Quite long. Try before you buy. Longines are on the move. About time.

Had mine a month now, love it, such a fantastic watch and can't see anything coming close for the money. It's so comfortable on the wrist, highly recommended.

Big fan of both Fratello and Longines watches, so I hit the like button in the first 5 seconds 😊. Another very good value proposition from Longines. My only niggle here are the five stars. I appreciate the historical reference, but I find it makes the otherwise nice dial unnecessarily busy.

It seem that the strap too long for my skinny wrist of size in 6'25"(159mm), so as you know that is Longines or AD offer genuine & original shorter strap for this 40mm stunning? Thanks!
