There have been hundreds of covers of this classic Leonard Cohen song, but Emily always comes up with something different. An acoustic version with just Emily, her gorgeous voice plus piano. Hello Ron. Hope you're well (have a pulse at least!) Hallelujah to Emily's "Hallelujah." I notice all the same suspects have already commented & very well too so there's not much more I can add. I would say that each time I play Emily's version, the more I like it. She has a tremendous feel for every song she performs & no one can say that they don't know what she's saying because her vocals are so clear. I loved the 2 key changes here (nod to Mick) that add depth. The piano solo too is, as always, a beautiful addition. Thanks Ron for playing & thanks Brad for requesting.

Good morning Ron, and thanks so much for the beautiful review. Just the way you feel about originals, is the way I feel about Emily’s version of any song, from any genre. Other people have their favorites, but for me, ever since she was 12, I don’t care what song it is, what style of music it is, none of it matters, Emily’s is the best. Period. In the opening verse and chorus here, she kept it all in her lower register, where most singers would take it up, and her lower register is silky smooth.
P.S. You are right Ron, if it’s not apparent in my comments, Emily is my favorite. Not just my favorite, but there’s not even a close second. She became my favorite during the first verse of the first song I ever heard her sing when she was 12. And I’m not a fickle person. Prior to Emily my favorite female singer was Karen Carpenter, and for half a century! Add on top of that her prowess on the piano, and it removes all doubts. If at any point in the 4+ years I had to choose only one singer I could listen to for the rest of my life, the choice would be a simple one, and with no hesitation. 😊

Salut , Ron , j'étais dehors à travaillé et à taillé quelques arbres . Comme , vous avez vu , Emily a une nouvelle coupe de cheveux . C'était pour le mariage de son frère Christian le 3 Août en Norvège . Emily chante dans les graves avec une qualité vraiment incroyable ! Emily fait un bel hommage à Léonard Cohen .
