I can't even afford housing and food on Centrelink, let alone provide for another human. I love kids and adore the ones my friends have but there's no possibility for me.
i had my son at 36 - it was TOO OLD im now 49 and im going through menopause at the same time as he is going through puberty and its HORRIBLE. I wish I had him earlier. Yes it was great at the time, but in retrospect I wish I had him around 30.
Agree, it's not ideal. Mid 30s gives room and time for fertility treatments if needed. It's like getting to the airport for a flight, always leave wiggle room for delays and upsets.
When my partner and I discussed having kids one of his main thoughts was that he wanted to be more financially secure and own a house but I said what if that never happens, it would be much better to have kids while we were still young. 22 years later it was the best thing we ever did, we have never been that financially secure but we made it work and now have 2 wonderful kids.
Make houses cheaper to purchase and give tax deductions to families based on how many children, also make marriage a better deal for men including divorce settlements and child support payments and ease of ending a marriage, also maybe start celebrating motherhood instead of trying to convince women that career and being independent is better than family and motherhood, but that would be going against the toxic feminism ideology of modern times so I guess its population decline and wondering why this is happening.
I feel like we are all raised to view having kids /pregnancy/birth in such a negative light that that has made most women not want them. Back in the day having kids was viewed as one of the best things that could happen to a woman so everyone wanted them.
You make it too expensive for citizens to have kids and then import prefabricated people instead.
Not everyone wants babies or marriage and nothing wrong with it.
You have one job to do.
Slowly you will lost the country
We can’t even sustain our current population. This is no surprise!!

We can't afford it
38 is when fertility declines. Bad advice lady.
It’s individual for every woman

Starting 33-35 is best, from personal experience. But younger is good if you are ready
Keep looking, more reasons than this for the drop
I agree. I had my daughter 38. Had a life before her and was happy to make the sacrifice.
No thanks
Why would you ask a Yank about kids?
