I think It's about time to divide my hydrangea, Thanks
That rust color on the planters is so beautiful 😊 it matches great with the boxwoods
I think so too! 🌿🫶
Your steel planters are looking great. Thanks for sharing all your tips on dividing your Annabelles.
My pleasure friend!
I am impressed I didn't think you could dig up that hydrangea that easily. Good job. I think I will go out and look at my hydrangea.
Good luck!
Super cool, you have free plants. I hope they like the new area where you will be planting them with the western exposure.
I hope so!
Awesome! Thanks
Hey! Thanks, 😊
Welcome!
Enjoyed the video. I hope you’ll show us an update on the Annabelle in a couple of months.
Definitely! The new plants are doing so well already with new leaves!
I cover my boxwoods with burlap as they can really fry. Local garden center answered question from gardener who had fried dwarf Alberta spruce. Have to cover those also as the drought and sun cook them in WI. It’s been Way too warm this winter so it’s not from cold.
You have green grass already. Not much green here as the drought fixes that and reason we are high fire.
Love how you explained dividing the hydrangea- just like hosta.
Nasturtium would look lovely spilling over the side. Just my opinion 🎉
Oh my gosh that hurt me seeing you divide the hydrangeas. I’ve never seen that before done. Thank you.
My original 6 Annabelle’s are now 20+, they divide and propagate easily.
This hydrangea started from a division from my neighbor’s garden, it was just a tiny little piece of roots.
I did plant 1 bleeding heart tuber and 1 hellebore I have a cloush that I can cover the hellebore with if it comes to that. I know the cold zapped one of my older hellebores new growth. My fault for not covering it better but its blooming.
I have huge boxwood, during tx frost, I lost them. ❤now with tips I am giving you, I will buy green paint for outside, I will mix with water in spray bottle, spray the whole boxwood.❤
You will not believe the plant look fresh❤ the paint will not fade, always look fresh green❤ it will cost to remove, I will not pay several hundreds of dollars to buy plant❤
I love the colour of those planters!
Thank you!
Beautiful love the corten steel planters! Did a lot of cleanup this weekend, taking tomorrow off work to get more done 😊
Tomorrow is gorgeous as well! I might prune by hydrangeas hedges!
I am curious as to how those divisions make out as I will need to do this in my garden this year. Most of my plants are starting year 3 of growth so I would like to divide some too. Nice job Roxanna!
I have a good feeling about them!
Got my rose bushes pruned. I’m terrified I took too much. Also remembered to order my seeds for direct sowing. Can’t believe I forgot. This weather is absolutely insane. My peonies are up and my big leaf hydrangeas are leaving out. Just as sure as the moon follows the sun we’ll have a hard frost right before Easter. Last year it killed all my hydrangea buds. I didn’t get a single bloom despite using frost blankets. Hopefully it won’t be that bad this year.
I was afraid for my lilacs last year, thankfully I got so many blooms. Fingers crossed for this year.
Is this a hydrangea that blooms on old wood?
Anabelle hydrangeas do bloom on new wood, normally I just remove the dried blooms because I wanted as tall as they can get, but some people cut them really low early in the Spring.
Hello fellow Zone 5 gardeners - I am on a small budget - need ideas for ONE plant that can fill a 24 inch pot that only get morning sun - THANKING you in advance 😊
Try planting a few nasturtium seeds there, or others could be coleus, salvia, if you want some for eating even purple basil would do amazing there. For that size pot you could do a dahlia as well.
Great job! I’m looking into incorporating more hydrangeas in my garden.🪴
I love hydrangeas, I wish I had more space to give them.
