Thanks so much for posting this video. I'm a novice mechanic and following this video, have just come back in from replacing the coil. It started first time after and sounds better than before (might be my imagination). So many hints and tips in the video, I'm sure I wouldn't have been successful without it.

Hallo, ich hatte alles in Verteiler ausgetauscht bis auf den Hallgeber da dieser meines Wissens nicht zu kaufen gibt. Jetzt habe ich immernoch keinen Funken. Die spannung kommt aber beim Verteiler an also muss ist es doch wahrscheinlich, dass dieser kaputt ist? Du scheinst mir recht viel Ahnung in der Materie zu haben, könntest du mir helfen und erläutern wie man den Hallgeber durchmessen könnte? Wäre sonst ärgerlich wenn ich einen kompletten Verteiler neu kaufe und die Vermutung doch nicht stimmt :D Vielen dank
Lol, i never noticed that, it obviously doesn't play a role. Car does run for several months now without problems. But now that you mentioned it i think about reseating the cables to their original position. Thanks for watching and your eagle eyes :-)
@@matzetronicsmscho8872 Reversing the connections to the coil can have an effect something to do with electrode erosion, all to do with material transferring from one electrode to the other, so reversing does the opposite, so you may get deposits on the rotor rather than on the four points, but I won't swear my life on this. It also means the spark polarity reverses, so if previously the polarity of spark was positive with respect to earth, by reversing the spark polarity is now negative, as far as the spark itself is concerned it ignites the petrol mixture so you do not see any difference in engine running.

is this distributor the same as a 1.3 engine ,im in australia and parts are hard to locate ,mine only starts if i put a heatgun on the distributor on cold mornings ,thankyou for any help
It should be the same distributor when you have the older engine before Facelift I did arrive just before the year 2000. Double check if you have thode 4 cables coming out of it. Newer engines have four seperate ignition coils.
Awesome video. What were the symptoms? I have a nasty misfire when warm, but compression sounds healthy. I suspect ignition coil as it gets worse the more it's driven, but a few minutes to cool off it'll disappear for a minute or 2. Also, for those who have the budget, a cordless ratchet is a game changer for this job!
Yes I did! Mine was quite odd. My coolant temperature sensor connector was heavily corroded (its a single spade connector on the passenger side of the engine from memory). I cut it back to clean wire, extended and reconnected it. The problem was corrosion making the resistance readings go out of spec, but heat also increases resistance. Given how bad the connection had got it was reading so far out of spec the ECU just didn't know what to do. Took minutes to fix after weeks of looking for it. Sorry for the late reply!
Nissan only sells the whole distributor, so they have no OEM Number for the coil. The replacement is used has the Number 'ECZ-NS-012' and is an NGK part afair.
No, i'm not a professional car mechanic but only an amateur when it comes to cars. The reason for not showing more videos on the Micra is that no other failure happened on the car and it ran flawlessly for three more years when rust put an end to its life. I'm now running a 2002 Micra and so far no problems worth mentioning did happen.

hey! geiles video! habe nur paar fragen.. mein nissan k11 springt einfach urplötzlich nicht mehr an nachdem ich in geparkt habe. wenn ich den schlüsseldrehe kommt aber dieses normal motor"rödel" geräusch aber der motor springt nicht an.. adac typ hat mit multimeter vieles durchgemessen und meint der zündverteiler bzw die zündspule sei hin. iwie habe ich aber bisschen angst das der mich veräppeln, weil er die zuünkerzen auch gepfrüft hat mit dem multimeter und da nichts zu gesagt hat.. aber ich bin ein laie was weiss ich schon :) mich verunsichert auch das du sagst der wagen sollte anspringen wenn man mit nem fühn auf den verteile hält.. weil als ich geparkt habe war der motor ja noch heiß und das müsste ja dem selben zustand entsprechen wie wenn man mit einem heißföhn draufhält oder? aber ist leider trotzdem nicht angesprungen.... desweiteren habe ich die möglichkeit einfach einen kompletten gebrauchten zündverteiler zu kaufen der funktionstüchtig sien soll, damit würde ich doch das auseinanderbauen einfach umgehen können oder? also einfach alten raus und neuen rein, würde das so einfach gehen? hoffe du hast paar tips für mich dankeee :)
That depends on the type of the NATS system. Until the end of 1995 Nissan installed a makeshift solution which breaks connections to fuel pump, ignition and crankshaft sensor in a small extra box by Lucas. This ATI is operated by a seperate remote control on your keyring. Theres an LED in the console which extinguishes when the car is operable, else it will flash or light. Newer models have an ATI incorporated in the ECCS and the keys and cannot be defeated easily.

Condenser is a 2µF/400V bipolar. Obtain one anywhere you want but you can try this link: www.pollin.de/p/motorbetriebskondensator-sh-1-7-f-450-v-201008 This works in my car for a year now, although its only a 1.7µF

Can't tell much about the symptons you're encountering, but the Micras have some trouble with the temperature sensor, too. Note that there are 2 sensors where one is for the gauge in the cockpit cluster and the other is for the ECCS. It might be either the distributor or the coolant sensor. Sorry, can't be more specific.Problems with the iginition coil tend to occur more in wet conditions than in dry, hot environments.

the connections nearest the coil, you reconnected opposite to how you removed them, will this not make a difference ?

Sie bildet die elektrische Verbindung zwischen Zündspule und Verteilerdeckel.
OK! Wo bekomme ich diese Schraubenfeder-incl. der Endkappe- ? Ist bei Nissan wohl nicht mehr Lieferbar.

Ecu cooling temp sensor has 2 pin not 1, 1 pin it's for gauge temp

First check fuses for ignition, fuel pump, and ECCS. Check Anti-Theft Immobilizer. Check for sound from fuel pump before starting.

Forgot to say that the condenser in the video was a temporary solution until i got the above part.
