Hey Cole, I was the drummer on this album. Your insights about the music and Jeffrey are spot on. Couldn't be more flattered that people continue to find the music worth a listen. It's a dark album, for sure. Jeff had a lot of demons but he loved to use "historical" characters to write songs about the American heart of darkness. But you nailed it! BTW, Preaching Blues is a cover song - Robert Johnson.

And I had no idea that was a cover… so cool! I only know a few RJ songs at the moment so Ill have to check out his original version. Good broadcast. Only '?' is the omission of Promise Me, probably the record's most haunting moment (Third track)

Great band; this record gets all the critical attention but I think Miami and Mother Juno are better. There's great songs on all of them though.
