Thank you for the question, I know very little about guitar maintenance which is awful considering how long I've been playing. With regards to the tuning problems on this guitar it was a process of deduction, I changed the machine heads and the tremolo block thinking that this would help, when it didn't I turned to Google! Most people said that the nut would be the culprit. When I looked up how to change the nut I found the Graph Tech website, there were relatively clear instructions and they also sold a nut that was meant to fit. The video shows how difficult this job actually is, I ended up breaking a few parts in the process and the nut needed a lot of work to make fit. I would definitely recommend getting a good luthier to do this job!
Fascinating stuff, how did you learn what you'd need to do and how to go about it?
