LOST (TWESELDOWN, CHURCH CROOKHAM) (8mm, December 1980)

My brother and I inherited our late grandfather's ciné camera. This is in an era when filming anything was still rare and costly, of course. This is the first thing my brother filmed. Like all these sorts of films, it has an idea and doesn't go anywhere and gets weird. He used me and a guy he knew at school to be in it. The subtitles are from the dialogue we spoke into a cassette recorder at the time and I've traced the original piece of music (by Showaddywaddy!!!) to add back on. There were people out for a walk and they wouldn't leave the area we wanted to film in, so my brother had the idea of using them as 'ghosts'. It's bad. All of it.
