@@alexkorobkov6550 solos generally don't get a writing credit. The solo is 100% all kirk. Mustaine wrote some of the riffs

I struggle with the 2nd part of the solo. My hand starts cramping, and I end up crying in my room while the backing track plays 😂

Thank you. Best of luck with the tune. Some of those runs are a bit of a wide stretch but you'll get it with practice. The explorer still had green tape on it from the Freebird video. Haha, so I went with it.
For me that’s the easiest part, guess it depends what kind of player you are. I use a lot of arpeggios in my playing. Shred bits are typically much harder for me since your fingers aren’t doing much repetition, you need to switch up your finger position a lot. Small arpeggios like that it’s just repetitive.
No way... this afternoon I thought to myself "I haven't played ride the lightning in a while, let's check out some tabs" and not one hour later you post. Amazing cover as always

I looked at some early live videos for the fingering positions at the intro. The solo was tricky especially in that part where the drums stop. In the studio recording, it sounds like there are notes in there that slide back a fret to a grace note. It was really odd to me. First I thought there's no way he tried to do that. Maybe he slurred it and messed it up. I guess it could have been intentional but he keeps it simpler live. And then I concluded that maybe it was just the Harmonizer trying to correct the notes quickly to set them in the right key. So I tabbed it leaving out the extra dissonance that I THINK was created by the Harmonizer.

listened to this song thousands of times and i really hear Dave's playing in this song. sounds so Megadeth like.

Good point, he's credited on a lot of this material now. I think on RTL he got liner note credit on this song and Kthulu. You can hear his influence on both songs though, its obvious. Also on Kill em All, songs like Jump in the Fire and Phantom Lord, you can hear Dave's influence even though he's not on any of the tracks. I remember listening to Jump in the Fire as a teenager and my friend who also played guitar looks at me and says "Dude, that's such a Dave Riff" lol... Mustaine had that quirky "blues mixed with harmonic minor" thing going on and it pops out to you as soon as you hear it.

A little over a year ago when I started guitar this seemed impossible and I was pretty envious of you. Watched again and honestly can’t believe how much easier it feels, I can do the fast shred bits with little to no issue and the timing is perfect. Your videos are great and help a lot.
