    *Title interperetations for DRV3 [SPOILERS]:*
    Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
"Killing" obviously references the killing game while "harmony" references Kaede's talent. "Killing" can be read as a noun adjunct of "harmony," meaning there's a harmony of killing taking place, most likely referring the in-universe outside world's fixation on the continuation of the franchise and the cycle of killing games. If "killing" is read as a verb in present progressive tense with the same interpretation of "harmony," it references how the harmonious cycle is "killed" off by Shuichi, who ends the franchise at its 53rd installment.
    Prologue: Ultimate Revival
In the prologue, the cast of pregame students gets "revived" as "Ultimates." Also could reference how Spike Chunsoft "revived" the series by appending another installment onto the supposedly-ended story in a soft-rebooted alternate universe.
Chapter 1: My Class Trial, Our Class Trial
Phrased from the protagonist's point of view, the chapter's class trial is dedicated to Kaede, the blackened. Other than to the entire class, "our" most likely refers to Kaede and Shuichi, considering that the trial is centered around them and hinged on their participation. "Our" can also be read later as referring to Kaede and Tsumugi, considering that they both played a part in carrying out Rantaro's murder and are both his killer.
Chapter 2: A Thin Line Divides Heaven and Hell
A direct reference to Kirumi's execution, the "thin line" being the strand of agony she climbs to escape the killing game and reach "heaven," the outside world. "Thin line" can be read as an edited version of the phrase "fine line," meaning there is a small distinction between whether an instance of murder is ethically permissible, a question begged by the morally grey nature of Kirumi's actions.
Chapter 3: Transfer Student From Beyond the Grave
Presumably refers to the Necronomicon's resurrection of one of the four dead students, or to the Caged Child ritual with the late Angie, until the "transfer student" is revealed to be Korekiyo's dead sister.
Chapter 4: Live and Let the Languid World Live
Kokichi both surviving by sacrificing his classmates and refusing to share the truth of the outside world with them, sparing them the despair of having their "languid" reality shattered (at least temporarily). Also references the phrase "live and let live," showcasing Kokichi's belief that his survival is vital for the preservation of the lives of others. "Languid World" can also allude to the Virtual World.
Chapter 5: Voyage Without Passion or Purpose
Kaito and Kokichi's aimless and reluctant collaboration as they try to combat an outside world they don't understand and do so against their will. The lack of "purpose" could also simply mean that the initial incident was accidental. "Voyage" references Kaito's talent and execution.
    Chapter 6: Goodbye Danganronpa
Shuichi and his classmates end Team Danganronpa's franchise for good. Also sends off Spike Chunsoft's trilogy, a befitting title for the last chapter in the series.

Title explanations for goodbye despair (spoilers
Prologue - Welcome to Dangan island! Panic at the heart-throbbing school trip!? - They are now on Dangan island. The panic is Monokuma appearing and the use of heart-throbbing and school trip mention how they we're there to just get along.
C1 - Destination: despair - The first death happens which makes them feel despair.
C2 - Sea and punishment, sin and coconuts - I assume sea and punishment references how Peko pretended she swam in the sea, sin and coconuts representing the fact she committed murder on a tropical island. Notice how sea matches with coconuts and how sin matches with punishment
C3 - Trapped by the ocean scent - References that they are in a simulation. It isn't actually the ocean trapping them in, one might say it's just the scent.
C4 - Do ultimate robots dream of clockwork? - Nekomaru became a robot with an internal clock, and he died because of it's timer function.
C5 - Smile at hope in the name of despair - Nagito thought that these ultimates were hopeful figures until he realized they were all ultimate despairs. It could also reference the others thinking the same thing, not just Nagito.
C0 - Heading to the school trip - Well, they were heading to the site of the school trip.
C6 - This is the end. Goodbye academy of despair. - It's the end, and they will leave the simulation they are trapped in.

  • @GallantGriffinGaming
    @GallantGriffinGaming 2 года назад +40

My interpretations of every single mainline Chapter Title, not including prologues (SPOILERS FOR ALL GAMES AND ANIME)
To Survive - Seeing as it's the first chapter of the first game, this is very unprecedented territory for both the people playing the game and Makoto, so it might cause fear that an attack on your life is likely.
Boys' Life of Despair - A lot of things in this chapter have to do with the guys, apart from Genocide Jill. Taka, Mondo, and Chihiro are who it's likely referencing though, as they were the three people most involved in the chapter (Byakuya too, but his life wasn't really "filled with despair" in this chapter). The twist with Chihiro being a guy is what I believe to be the staple of this though.
A Next Generation Legend! Stand Tall Galactic Hero - Reference to Robo Justice
All Star Apologies - Hina is what one may call an "All Star", which makes sense since she's heavily involved with Sakura, the apologies I believe just has to do with the fact that it's a really emotional chapter.
100 Mile Dash; Pain of a Junk Food Junkie - The "Junk" and "Junkie" is an obvious nod to Junko, and the 100 Mile Dash has to do with the fact that Junko isn't just sitting by in her mastermind chair, she's going around creating a "murder".
Ultimate... - All of these "Ultimates" are meant to be negative things, which makes sense as Junko tries to make the group feel despair.
Destination: Despair - Everyone is settling in to their life here, which the title makes sense with the context of Chapter 0 with them actually having arrived there.
Sea and Punishment, Sin and Coconuts - The "Sea" and "Coconuts" is just island fluff, but the "Sin" and "Punishment" has to do with Mahiru's and Fuyuhiko's sins in Twilight Syndrome Murder Case
Trapped By The Ocean Scent - Again, island fluff, but I think this also alludes to the despair disease as it's treated like airborn one (ocean "scent") and then the group divides and basically trapped and separated.
Do Ultimate Robots Dream of Clockwork? - A reference to the quote "Do androids dream of electric sheep?" which is fitting since they're still both talking about robots. Ultimate Robots is referencing Mechamaru, and Clockwork is referencing his Radio Clock function.
Smile at Hope in the Name of Despair - What I find interesting about this is in the DR3 anime there's a title with the naming reversed, called "Smile at Despair in the Name of Hope" where they watch Chiaki die and become Ultimate Despair. In that, they're smiling at despair because they're supposed to be hope, as they are Hope's Peak students. Then we get to this game and the name is opposite, where they're already Ultimate Despair but I believe the "hope" that is being referenced is the trap that Nagito set up for them, where either the group lives or Chiaki lives.
Heading to the School Trip - Self-explanatory
This is the End, Goodbye Academy of Despair - The game is ending and they're leaving this twisted illusion of Hope's Peak and Jabberwock Island.
My Class Trial, Our Class Trial - Usually, when people reference a class trial, they either number it or address it as "this person's class trial", the person being typically the victim but I can also see it being the culprit. So when it's called "My Class Trial", Kaede is calling it her class trial. The "Our Class Trial" though is a bit more complicated. I think Kaede is referencing Shuichi with it, as the POV shifts from her to him during the trial.
A Thin Line Divides Heaven and Hell - The line can be referencing Kirumi's execution, but I believe this is mostly a reference to Kirumi's will to live clashing with Ryoma's lack of. Heaven and Hell are known as two opposites which is a parallel with how Kirumi and Ryoma's motivations are opposites.
Transfer Student From Beyond the Grave - Obviously this is referencing the motive, but it's also referencing Korekiyo's sister as there really wouldn't be a "transfer student from beyond the grave" without her, she's meant to be that.
Live and Let the Languid World Live - There's a song in soundtrack called "Living in the Lazy Parallel World" which I think is a reference to this track, as the motive for this chapter is meant to be the outside world. Both titles include "world", "live", and a form of the word "lazy" (lazy and languid are synonyms). Whether this references the fake destroyed world set up by production or the actual outside world is unclear, likely it's the latter though. Interesting though how it doesn't really make reference to the virtual space made by Miu.
Voyage without Passion or Purpose - I think the voyage part alludes to the characters believing that they're on a space journey but in terms of the murder case the two nouns after voyage are meant to represent the culprit and the victim. "Passion" representing Kaito and "Purpose" representing Kokichi, as both nouns heavily correlate to their characters.
Goodbye Danganronpa - "Together, we're gonna end Danganronpa!"

    V3 Chapter title meanings
*(MAY INCLUDE SPOILERS, THIS IS ALSO JUST MY THEORY. IT MAY OR MAY NOT BE TRUE.)*
*Chapter 1 : My Class Trial, our Class Trial*
    - Take this an example for I am showing the meaning; My role is the protagonist of Danganronpa, I lead every Class Trial. However, it doesn't mean I own the Class Trial, it's also ours.
What I meant is, every Class Trial is just not yours, it's also your classmates'. That is why it is titled as 'My Class Trial, our Class Trial'.
*Chapter 2 : A thin line divides heaven and hell*
    - It is probably a reference to Kirumi's execution; Strand of agony.
The *'hell'* could be reffering to the part in the beginning of Kirumi's execution - people heavily bashing at her ( tbh they look like Trump's supporters that would start a riot. ) The *'line'* could be reffering to the rope that appeared in front of Kirumi, without knowing that rope was an undying trick. She climbs all over the way up, trying to escape the hell underneath. When she was close to the end, she was left with cuts and bruises from those dangerous mechanics she got through. We can reffer to the end as the *'heaven'* . Of course, that was just a trick, the *'thin line that divided heaven and hell'* torned apart and left Kirumi fall to the ground.
*Chapter 3 : Transfer Student from beyond the grave*
    - For someone who has watched the playthrough of the Chapter 3 Class Trial, I completely understood what this meant. The meaning behind is actually quite funny.
During the trial, almost everyone thought the *Transfer Student from beyond the grave* , the recently deceased, Rantaro Amami, killed the two girls, Tenko and Angie. Because while they were doing the seance, they thought maybe the dead spirit of Rantaro Amami murdered Tenko and Angie. The scene was hilarious, however, it was confirmed false later on.
*Chapter 4 : Live and let the languid world live*
    - It was probably reffering to the outside world, where everybody watch their favorite reality show, Danganronpa. During the Chapter 4 Post-Trial, Gonta's Alter Ego told Gonta that he was indeed the culprit. Although, he wasn't intending to do such a terrible thing. Kokichi manipulated him into doing this, for *one reason* . Gonta discovered something really cruel and awful behind this killing game, as Kokichi was the one that somewhat told him that. Gonta did not explain what it was, so the rest was left confused. I watched Chapter 6, Gonta probably found out that there were people who were watching this killing game for entertainment, as he also found out that all of this mess is just plain fictional.
Since the rest, never got Gonta's answer, they just *let* the outside world to continue watching this killing game without even knowing. The 'live' in the end of the title wasn't probably relevant and the creators probably added it there to suit with the dark theme. Also, 'languid' was used to describe the outside world, which could also mean 'weak'. Well, that *is* how we think the world is, weak.
*Chapter 5 : Voyage without passion or purpose*
    - This one is hard, but it could be related to Kokichi and Kaito's cooperation?
In a Chapter 5 scene, Maki accidentally shot Kaito in the arm with a poisonous arrow, whose original target was supposed to be Kokichi. Kokichi was already shot with one too. Maki ran off to get the antidote that could cure the poison that would begin running in Kaito's veins. When she returned, she handed it over to them with a window. But, Kokichi stole it and *pretended* to drank it. Maki tried to break the window, but it was no use. Maki, feeling defeated, just left the scene. After Maki was gone, Kokichi gave Kaito the antidote and helped him drink it. However, Kokichi told Kaito to cooperate with him as a repay for the antidote. Since Kokichi selflessly saved Kaito's life, he agreed.
We could think of the *'voyage'* as Kokichi's plan. Kaito didn't have the *'passion'* to do this because he was just convinced to do this. I don't really know about the *'purpose'* part, since they do had a purpose to do this. Please, tell me if you do know!
    *Chapter 6 : Goodbye Danganronpa*
    - It's the final Chapter, Shuichi and his remaining classmates put an end to the mastermind, the killing game, and the entirety of Danganronpa. Now, the outside world goes byebye to Danganronpa.

“Without Purpose” in chapter 5 could refer to how the plan itself failed, as the intent was create an unsolvable murder, but Shuichi solved it regardless.

SPOILER. Sorry but is the book on hiro's head in the dr1 chapter 2 card a reference of some kind? Its a book with a very manga esque artstyle displaying taka and celeste. The artwork could be a reference to hifumi. So this one book references taka, hifumi, and celeste, and then chapter 3 happened and these 3 are dead. Reference or not?

    There’s my theory:
The colorful chapter titles (6:12 for exemple) are the recent versions of the games, because they’re not disturbing at all. But chapters titles that are VERY disturbing (0:44 for exemple) are the first old versions of the games. It is accurate because the Danganronpa series are from the 2010’s and the colorful chapter titles could be from the remasters, 2015-2020’s.

..what remasters? Danganronpa 1.2 Reloaded was in 2013. Also, there's a big difference between end and deadly life.
