26MB Windows XP using a batch file

- (I actually did this last year, just didn't bother to upload it until now ...)
Windows XP (RTM), taken from a fresh install (no nLite or anything) to the bare minimum (or lowest I could get) in just a few minutes with a set of batch files. This was done by running it in VMWare and using snapshots, adding commands (deletes, etc.) to the batch file as I figure out what I can delete and what I can't (restoring from the snapshot when Windows doesn't boot), until I couldn't find anything more I could remove.
C:\windows size and RAM usage:
- Before: 609MB, 6126 files, 276 folders, 75MB commit charge
- After: 26.5MB, 133 files, 8 folders, 15MB
- + UPX: 18.8MB, but 60MB commit (and probably slower too)
Of course, there really isn't much use for it since it's really broken ... it's just a fun experiment I've been doing with different Windows versions.

(extract to C:\slimwin, then 1.bat starts the whole process)
Obviously don't ever run this on any normal XP system unless you want to break it badly ... and it might only work with XP RTM English.

Or hell, even more common Linux distros. There are already minimalistic ones out there, but I'm sure even those could be trimmed down like XP has been here.

I know why on caption buttons there are letters! Windows XP uses Windings (or some other) font for writing these one, so that Windows hasn't got that font, it shows here that it's Arial.

You have just turn windows xp into windows 3.1 (with NTFS)
It seems you have just removed Windows XP and installed another operating system out of the early 90s.
I open 1.bat on my VM and it crashed before the restart...
So, just install programming libraries and DiectX and it will still run Crysis?

I tried it and it does not work.
"18.8MB, around the size of Windows 3.1" I don't think so. When I had Windows 3.1 it was closer to 2MB, I only had a 20MB HDD and it wasn't nearly full.

UgH you don't understand what Ram and hard drive space is.
Ram is used to make your pc faster. If there is none the system can't boot.
Hard drive space is used for files and data (in which this removes oh most everything)

Maybe it'll make XP run faster, but overall the system has its bare minimum of required files and can only be used for certain things, like file management. Maybe it could be done with Windows 10, but it would be done a lot differently.

Still looking for a XP live cd usb boot with as many updates from windows 8 needed for offline mame/hyperspin. kinda like a dead end console style. focuses only on game cpu gpu minimal regs. any takers? more of an os no explorer. grub or some sort of dual boot.
