I never understood how this was never considered the one good takeaway from this album. It was always amazing! I enjoyed St. Anger! Then again, I was able to understand it. Most people simply didn’t get it.
I think I like St. Anger because it was the first Metallica album I was aware of at 13. Riding the Lighting, Load, Master of Puppets, those records were as old as The Monkeys for me. I enjoy almost everything off the St. Anger record. It wasn't a disappointment to me because I had nothing to compare it to. I still love it. But yes, the snare was kinda odd.

Nah. I personally debated just re-doing the original, but decided just to re-do the mix I had done already. I agree the original snare gives it a different vibe.

To my ears, the sustained tones of the snare were basically another "voice" in the song. That said, your use of reverb on the vocals brings some ambience of its own, so it's still a good listen. Almost like how a live version may sound.
I actually really enjoy this song. While St. Anger wasn't a masterpiece, it had it's moments like Purify, The Unnamed Feeling etc. I really like this mix. Thank you.

Just found you channel and remasters of St Anger. It's so nice to be able to enjoy this album again without getting a headache or setting off my tinnitus. Thank you for doing this and I really hope the whole album can be done at some point

As soon as a studio-quality drum cover or track becomes available, I will most assuredly get it done as quick as I can. I've been in-contact with the man who did the drum covers for my previous St. Anger mixes, so we'll see!

I've been waiting 20 years for someone to stretch the St. Anger video clips out to full length. Cutting them down to 5 minutes for tv always stopped me enjoying them properly. As bad as the album sounds, could you make the same video with the original audio? There are certain moments missing from this version, and it would be nice to have 2 versions side by side.
Honestly its better the way it is. Sounds of the rough instrumental fits the rough vocals. Trying to polish it doesn't really work, HOWEVER this sounds good ngl

I know, imagine having to play for this album while mixing it as well, not to mention deal with the tensions of the band you’re doing this for.
