Thx for this Video, I have had the Slidewinder for a short while now, n liking it just fine!! I use it primarily to get my telescoping MFJ 1979 to work 40m, cheers 😀
Great video, however, i wouldn't be a west country lad without pointing out that, that wasn't a combine harvester that was a sprayer ;) But anyway, great video, dont see many on this coil so glad someone has done one. 73's M7TLT
Nice! I keep threatening to get my Ampro Hamstick for 20m out but life & work always gets in the way. I might make a point of stopping at a WWFF (or maybe a POTA) on my way home from work tomorrow evening & attempt some greyline DX.
Hey there, nice Video thanks for that. One Question ... what kind of adapter do you use between the magnetic Socket PL to the Slidewinder Coil 3/8 Zoll? 73 Thomas dc5ly
Use an adapter like this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/392113209895?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ss_kxe_nSCm&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=tGQUWfHPS7-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Hi Chris. You say you need the coax to be in a similar position and coiled up a bit for it to work ok (tune I presume?). If that is the case and moving the coax affects swr, I’m just thinking that there may be some common mode around somewhere?
Hi Tim thanks for the reply. I discovered that I could get the same results every time same SWR if I had the Mag mount and coax in identical positions. Of course I could have just cut the coax. But making a choke has never been a bad thing and coiling it up worked well. Because I get the same results every time I have marked up the coil.
Very easy you lift one of the circles upwards. Which will pivot the whole mount on two magnets. And with a upwards motion it will release from the roof

It will tune whatever way the coax runs Tim. Chris did this just to save him time setting up.
@@Tantalicdavid ah ok it was a convenience thing .. got it. I just thought Chris meant about tuning. No worries 73

Great video, thank you. How difficult is it to get the triple mag mount off your car roof?

Yes good point Chris it most likely would work on the 60 m. But I can’t use that as an intermediate unfortunately
