I would have though they just copied and pasted the convo but the second time he made the comment about having the same thing with him as talking to her then... That poor teacher, bet he got a gray hair from both of them.. Well he may have got 2 from talking to her as 1 from convincing her to go and second from the stress of the deja vu, and trying to figure out the kids. There is a old saying I grew up hearing "two pea's in a pod" and that seams to fit the MC and FMC.

I think FMC was as honest as she could be. It was MC who wasn't, thinking lying about not being able to come due to other reasons would be better than truthfully saying a cold downed him. That said, being young at the time FMC woulda probably hated him if he had told the truth anyway cause he didn't come, period. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

After years of bickering and fighting, Satoshi and Midori finally reconciled. But if I had to say their whole constant bickering was all because of a cold. Midori thought Satoshi betrayed her until her mother told her the truth and she realized Satoshi had thought of her the entire time. It’s great that she was able to put the gold medal on Satoshi neck and declare her love for him and he became her number one. The teacher also gets credit as he also played a part in this. He’s the wingman
Personally, girl was lucky MC was loyal, faithful and patient cause otherwise if MC had been any other man, they might have given up and moved away.

Man let me tell when i was in middle school by brother missed my performance in a skit that we practiced for over six months due to the trains being cancelled and i remember not talking to him for several months than one of my friend slapped me and said to not be childish. Man it hurts more than anything when you practice something to show to someone and they didn't come man i knew the reason my brother couldn't come still i acted that way and she didn't even know the reason so i can understand but i still have to say its a bit childish

And the part that makes me mad is what some people say here, that the girl never apologize for her behaviour before the reveal and acted as if nothing ever happened which is stupid.
Looks like that cold started a fight that ended in the sweetest way possible glad they finally had reconciled after so many years.

A cold broke up their friendship, and a cold mended it. Satoshi and Midori make for a great couple and I'm glad they could reconcile, with a little help from Midori's mom. And the ending was super sweet with Midori finally being able to put her gold medal around Satoshi and calling him her number one. They are just so cute and sweet together.
Imagine Sato's cold is more than just a cold and he died shortly after.

I wonder what will happen if the teacher manage to give it to someone else other than Midori and Satoshi? It might ended up the same because of their mother. If she hadn't had it the situacion would have remained the same: her still holding a grudge. If more time had passed a romantic rival could enter in the equation. If it was a boyfriend Midori mother could stop the situation and say the truth. But if it was a girlfriend for Satoshi? The Satisho from the present didn't say that still love her. We could see a signals, but it is a flame or embers? The right girl, not a tsundere, doing the right thing, confessing his fellings and not stopping showing love, and Midori not making anything could end a future together.

Funny, that there was an incident where a fever came which made Midori have a fever and the next day Satoshi also had a fever because he had to stay with Midori so that her fever would get better faster but he decided to lie so she wouldn't feel bad and still anticipating the contest but as a result their relationship will crack and drift apart but because he loves her and puts her happiness before his own He happily accepted that consequence. and several years later the incident happened again and strangely enough, because of this incident, their relationship returned like used to before and their bond becomes stronger because they can understand their feeling each another.

I remember one where a guy came back to town to go to a friend's funeral and discovered all the horrible things he'd done, and realized one of the reasons he'd left was because his "friend" sort of stole the girl the MC liked and did some horrible things to her to get her to marry him and use her money as well other things the friend had done to keep people in line and do his bidding.
Towards the end the MC gets hit with this sort of forced realization that maybe if he'd gotten up the courage to ask out his crush much sooner maybe he could have saved her the pain and misery she went through (which is not fair to him at all because the story makes it seem like the so called friend would have either stolen or black mailed the crush or get the MC to back off through another way, and while it's not stated you can feel the so called friend wouldn't have taken the MC having happiness laying down)
By the end the crush now widowed tells the MC to marry her and take care of her (she's kind of half broken mentally despite being freed from that horrible husband, to the point of having nightmares about what he did to her) which he does and in fact she is the one who semi said to him the reason she's like that is because if he'd confessed to her she'd be in a relationship with the MC instead of being left to deal with the friend. That she would have been out of danger. So the MC is left married to a broken woman while wondering how the future will .

This petty girl can’t get a grip. It’s not helpful that Satoshi can’t get his ego out of the way to actively engage with her instead of just denying and bickering. He at least asks questions and looks out for her. But she just can’t get over herself and see the big picture. Until her mom tells her the reason he lied. And what’s more she didn’t even think to ask him again why he lied. Because Satoshi doesn’t remember that (fever). It’s mostly the girl’s fault for this debacle, as she didn’t even let him apologize for anything. He would have said: “I apologize for something I don’t even know you are mad about; why are you mad?” If she said “why don’t you remember” he explains what her mom told her and if she still says he’s an asshole then he moves on from her. Because all he has seen since then is her feeling angry around his presence.

Ngl I would love it just once if you guys could try make a story that has a childhood friend "really hates" the MC like yesterdays story but only this time she doesn't end up with him and he finds someone who actually cares for him like maybe a coworker. After years of fighting from misunderstanding, I woulda hesitated, but not rejected the gold medal offer. Maybe give a week to get used to things going back to the way they used to be, because the memories of many hurtful fights don't just magically go away. Also, I would TOTALLY bicker at FMC's mom for ratting me out, hahah! But playfully bicker, nothing too serious. But overall, decent story.
