But if get one of this here in Sweden, the cops will think it's an "A-traktor" and stop me all the time. :D An "A-Traktor" here in Sweden is a modified car that people at age least 16 years can drive after getting their easy license for that vechicle, and the top speed is limited to about 30 km/h. (19 miles). It "was" use to look like this with a loading platform behind, that gave it is characteristic look on the road. Nowadays you can get any car to be an a-traktor.

El Camino wouldn't have worked, it would be degrading, a normal SS ute would be better suited to be called an El Camino, you can't import a Maloo and change it's name, that's sacrilege
They were ready to import them i remember 50 cent was promoting them at some car show, but they believed they would take away sales from US made vehicles so stopped the import scheme, Holden being the Australian arm of GM I would think they would of went ahead anyway but GM executive types were never known for making smart decisions I spose.
These are totally unaffordable here in South Africa. The Lumina (Commodore in Auz) is a lot cheaper to buy but just doesn’t have the same appeal ☺️

It was built by the same company here in Australia by Holden Special Vehicle (HSV) The Holden company started in the late 40s until it's closing down in 2017...

I love Holden always have and love the maloo thing I don't like is it cost a shitload of coin to make something like this maloo to really go fast as the late model Holden weight so much compared to the old Holden like I'm talking 500 plus kg heavier than say a vl Calais 5.0 but I do love the car just the same
The ve range was a billion dollar project and it is still been used in platforms around the world, I.e the new corvette. You have to expect more weight with what you get in these compared to what you got back then plus weight difference 6.2 to 5.0, being a Ute it is reinforced in the back plus the tub liner and hard lid. In all honesty 500kg isn’t much for what has changed and what you get.
@@mark3788 yes I no the ve was a billion dollar project I have that on dvd it's called Holden billion dollar baby racing quarter mile is all about power to weight there are other factors as well but a 300kw vl verses same power in a ve maloo the vl will beat it comfortable garenttee you the thing that ve has in it's favour coz of technology is it can put the power down to the ground a lot better than the vl and you must be kidding mate 500kg is massive weight to be carting around extra in a ve ask anybody they will say the same thing regardless of all I have said I still love the ve maloo to give you some indication about weight a vc Brock Commodore with 160kw with 336 diff gears does a 14.9 second quarter 160kw is nothing with standard 3.08diff gears it does 16flat still great for only 160kw
Mark Perkins i was referring to the hsv range weight and I was trying to point out that what you get for the extra 500kg isn’t that bad. Bigger motor/bigger brakes/big wheels/big body/big interior(seat/full climate control/all the hsv extras)/20” spare wheel/70 litre tank etc. also depends what motors your talking about been 300kw, a 6.2 300kw ve will beat a 300kw 5.0 vl as the 6.2 will have a lot more torque to back up the extra weight it needs to carry, but if they are both 6.2/same box/diff then yeah vl will probably win.
@@mark3788 fair call I understand what your saying mate I no you won't see it this way but all of those extras you get is just more stuff to go wrong which I no for a fact cost a shitload of coin to fix when it does how do I no I no somebody who has one and stuff went wrong this is one of the reasons I prefer old cars there's no technology in them so therefore not much can go wrong don't get me wrong all that fancy stuff is nice though

I got the narva ultra blue but not that effective
G C mmm I can’t remember exactly but my friend has the same brand as mine just blue on his Supra and they are really bright like this girls R8, lights up the road at night when we drive...if you get the ones made up of LED’s and not globes it should be really bright, my friend and I’s has 4 led globes per light so lights up a lot. If you go autobarn and ask 100% they will find some for you, but I am pretty sure it is illegal but they are cheap so worst case you take them off and put the xenon ones which are much better looking than the stock yellow ones (bmw’s and mercs all have them)

Hey Moto Man, no idea where the plate lights came from - was like that when I bought her. I just assumed they changed the stock globes for blue ones 🤷🏻♀️
Moto Man auto barn man, you can get red, blue or green, I got red in the narva brand, they are illegal but who cares worst case you just change then back if you get pulled over, I’ve had them 1+ year no issues yet

Looks like a g8 Camino
The G8 is an imported rebadge of the sedan version of this car except a couple years previous. The next generation VF was sold in the US as the Chevy SS, the modern Pontiac GTO was a Holden Monaro, GM loved selling our cars under their other sub brands for a while.
@BushPigz 99 holden built their own engines until the vt commdore because tehy were going bankrupt for lack of government funding under the new world order, now all manufacturing is dead in aus
