    Here in Brazil, an older person can be called uncle or aunt even without being from the same family, without any problems. In many cases it is a sign of respect, for example, with children's teachers. A few players here use long pimples rubber on the backhand of the Japanese penholder racket, to receive serves.

    It’s also the same in the Philippines
    Uncles and aunties don’t necessarily have to be relatives

    In Hawaii we referred to our elders as aunty and uncle. Grandmas and grandpas we called tutu. This was a sign of respect and an acknowledgment of their wisdom.

    In malaysia, we do call people aunty or uncle even if we are not related. We also call people brother or boss

      yes uncle is respectful of their age and wisdom

      Singapore also... except for the 'boss'

      Similar to Indonesian. We call the much older ones "om" (the "uncle"), and "tante" (the "aunty"). For the younger older ones, we call "bang" from word "abang" (brother) and "kak" from word "kakak" (sister) though they are not our own brother or sister. I think it's the Asian "respect" things probably. It's a little bit confusing for the non-Asian for sure. Hahaha..

      That's funny, in Brazil we do that too, but in that sense uncle and aunt mean the same as "you there", not that polite, (unless you're calling your friends parents like that, then it just becomes a little childish, but respectful, as you're comparing their parent to someone of your own family). The boss and brother thing, we do that too, it isn't necessarily respectful or disrespectful, it's just to express warmth and try to create intimacy (making a friend or getting to know someone). It's crazy how countries so far apart still have those linguistic similarities.

    Hello coach, how do we twiddle the racket while using the penhold grip?

    • @texlingon1157
      @texlingon1157 Год назад

      That question interests me as well

    • @azku
      @azku 4 месяца назад

      @@texlingon1157 It’s better to use modified jpen handle like Nittaku Sou MF or reversible jpen blade like Butterfly Revolver. It is possible to twiddle traditional jpen but the reversed position doesn’t feel natural.
      For cpen, it’s very easy to twiddle.

    • @texlingon1157
      @texlingon1157 4 месяца назад

      @@azku I have Yinhe 989 now(two sided version of jpen) and even sanded down near to the cylindrical shape it still stucks in the hand and makes it really hard to twiddle. Idk why and it's really frustrating

    • @azku
      @azku 4 месяца назад

      @@texlingon1157 I twiddle clockwise (I’m right handed). I just put my middle finger onto the FH side, and just rotate like I would if I want to rotate to TPB position. You’ll end up with the middle finger curling around the hook at the back.
      I think counter clockwise twiddling is difficult on jpen.

    Iran also calls elderly and non-family members uncles, aunts, and uncles, even if they are called Anhar

    Addressing the elderlies as uncle/auntie (despite being total strangers) is common practice in many Asian countries, Malaysia inclusive. It's rather strange to the people in the West, or in this case Russian.

    That is a custom or tradition and when you really would like to respect older people,As we do here, you may call him/her as Dad,Uncle,Bro, Mom,Sister, or any other respectful word that we think can make the old guys closer to us.

    I find totaly fine for you to refer some older guy in China as uncle. It gives him that Chinese vibe. However, it would be strange to refer European amater player as uncle.

    It's pretty interesting that you guys call people 'uncle,' over there. It's not much different then us calling each other 'bros' here in America, despite not being literal brothers.

    This amateur player isn't even executing the j-pen style correctly (stiff arm, weird movements). Maybe you could have shown a more profound/ advanced player. Thia is a bad example.

    English has no standard because England, America, Canada, Australia, India, Jamaica, and many other English-speaking countries have their own customs. No need to change your way of speaking as long as the content is conveyed properly. If someone gets offended by the way you address someone, it's okay. Just ignore them, cuz they won't understand the meaning of "diversity" really means.
