Signed crown is the last thing I look for in a watch. Maybe fine on a dress watch for added aesthetics but really dont care about it on a tool watch. One less thing to worry about if you scuff or ding the crown and the sign gets ruined. Rather have a nicely finished crown. with proper grip. Pre ordered the new Padi Sumo SPB375 a few days ago, can't wait to receive.
If they had left the crown signed I would’ve bought it… I have the last generation sumo and I put a double damn sapphire crystal with AR coating on it and wear it on a aftermarket strap code, Angus jubilee bracelet… When I wanna wear something big and chunky. This is my go to watch.
A great looking next-gen Sumo. All the updates really work except those male endlinks and downgraded (IMO) polished ceramic bezel. Would’ve preferred the wearability of female endlinks and the less blindingly shiny aluminum bezel. It’s always a game of whack-a-mole with these updates. Overall, though, there’s a stronger sense of quality in this latest version. As for signed crown, I don’t usually care. It honestly doesn’t matter as long as the crown is well made and well finished. I tend to want it more on watches that are more ornate, like the Alpinist.
Seiko doesn't sign any of the crowns on the Prospex range, regardless of cost. Seems they only sign crowns on the Presage range. Like the new Sumo, I had the previous generation but the bracelet was poor and eventually sold it. Great review, as always 👌
I have 2nd gen sbdc 069 with side S crown with safari Cristal and the bracelet match the case not like the new gen sometimes I’m thinking shall I sell it to buy the new gen or not 🤔
I have the gen 3 green Sumo and love it. I wear it mainly on an Uncle Straps tire tread strap as I don’t like the bracelet. The X doesn’t bother me. I don’t need a signed crown.
Love the sumo style. Small size brecelet compare to the case size to me is classic. But with only gets 6r35 movement with low beat and cost around 1100 usd i think it overprice as always with lot of other prospex line up
Gen 2 Sumo still had the 6R15, 6R35 wasn’t until Gen 3. Also, but the Prospex logo on the back for me, we don’t need that goofy logo on the dial. And yes, bring back the signed crowns, I liked either the snake S or the serif font S, but they should pick one and stick with it.
All the $700+ Prospex watches are always made in Japan and has Japan engraved on the case back and the Japan text on the dial. It will not be written Made is Japan unless its a JDM version of the entry level Prospex model which are usually under $700. Then it says Made in Japan on the caseback and on the dial.
I ve just got this spb321 on my wrist, it’s realy beautiful especially the gradient deep blue colour , the ceramic bezel is outstanding , however mine one has one problem, the date change is too slow and it needs almost one hour to change the date completely 😅
I bought my 1st gen Sumo right after it came out - black dial. It's a watch that I will never sell and it'll be going to a grandson when I'm gone. It's a fabulous watch and the dial and bezel are amazing to look at. Still runs at +7 secs/day with no service. Sure, the bracelet isn't the greatest but I don't care. However, this new Sumo has me thinking. That blue dial is awesome! Hmmm....
I changed the hardlex to sapphire for a gen 1 sumo when I first filmed the sumo. There is a new PADI Sumo recently released that looks KILLER!!!! instagram.com/p/CshrolHrDux/
what do you think about the PADI version? The last King Sumo SPB325J1 has been released on september 2022, there is already a new one. will the SPB325J1 in your review be dismissed soon?
Yes special edition SPB325 will be produced for 1 year then stop. But there will be tons of stock left yeas after. This is usually the case. There is an all new SUMO PADI that replaced the 325 already, it is the SPB375.
They need to revise the lugs. Take the bracelet off and the lugs look silly and tall and has a huge gap on any kind of strap that isn’t fitted. It looks awful. It’s the one thing that stops me buying another Sumo. Everything else about it is great. Maybe if there was a better bracelet for it with female links, it would solve the problem. Would a Jubilee work on a Sumo? I dunno. Maybe an Oyster style bracelet is the only option.
Personally, I could care less about the signed crown. I want the lume back the way they used to do it on 6RMAS and MM200. The markers on those are stamped as an outline, and the lume is deep filled in the middle. *That* is how you get that famous Seiko torch lume. The newer models including these, MM200R, 63MAS, and Willard all have markers that are stamped out as one solid block, and then lume is painted on *top* of the blocks in a lumpy blob that looks like garbage, like cheap nail polish. *NO* Swiss brand does their lume like that, because it looks like trash, and it makes the brightness MUCH weaker than the old models. I know they are coming out with a new MM300 at some point, and I dread to think that it will get the same crappy, lumpy blob lume on its markers, as a final, complete insult to the gorgeous, hand applied lume that SBDX001, 003, and 012 had. The new SLA065-67 have the blob lume, so I don't see why they wouldn't. Seiko just doesn't care anymore about how its markers look, and just wants them as cheap to make as possible.
OMG Stop with the crown nonsense!!! I don’t care about the crown. I care about alignments bezel alignment. I care about chapter ring alignment. The cromn doesn’t make any difference to me. It’s such a stupid ridiculous thing to highlight.

The S stands for Hope...that seiko will finally fix their QC issues.

My favorite Seiko! Love its wrist presence. Thanks for the video.

that Sumo is insane.
Great video, and yes the 👑 must be signed. IMO
❤I love my First Gen Blumo ❤ I had the gen 3 in green and sold it, was a tough call to make but one had to go
I have 2nd gen sbdc 069 with side S crown with safari Cristal and the bracelet match the case not like the new gen sometimes I’m thinking shall I sell it to buy the new gen or not 🤔
I have the first gen sumo and I really like it ; I got it bran new from japan years ago.

Perfect idea for the px on the crown 👍
I noticed 1 thing - the engraving "Japan" on the case back is not "Made In Japan", although powered by same 6Rxx calibre.

Very good idea with the Prospex X on the crown 👍
Nice review bro🤜🤜🤜🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Love the sumo case , hate the terrible clasp and the X and the unsigned crown … seiko easily remedy that in this price range .
Would love the bezel in black. Also why no singed crown??? 😢
Y E S S S S S S
on the S 👑
Wish they'd something about those 3 o'clock lume plots. Even a dot would be better.

This is normal for the movement
you can fast change the date day by day using the crown
Great looking watch, but as always, the movement needs regulation. Why o why does Seiko not do this??
It’s mind boggling to me!
0:18 where did you buy this band and what is the size? Thank you

@@EscapementWatch That is one beautiful watch! I just bought an SPB143 so I might need to wait a while...maybe.
Yep, put the X on the crown, or just the box! Do like a Sumo though.
The S stands for 'squint' hard enough and everything will appear to line up.

Love the padi colors!!!!!!
for me, crown "S" is important as identity or signature of seiko for, a lots of fake seiko specially here in Philippines

My ideas is Prospex X on the screw down crowns, S on the normal crowns.
Accuracy at the level of counting on your hands for a day
HAHAHAH I LOVE THIS! ROFL

Great comment
No signed crown is not good enough seiko
Movement reliability is still crap
Terrible movement
Ah Seiko, dive watches with no imagination, same old same old but at extra cost.
It's not a S, its a snake
Snakeo
S on crown looks cheap
