    Colin Mcdowell has stated himself that the APB EQs are Digital. from tape op, When most folks use outboard analog EQ they are looking for that EQ tone (with) a saturation component to the sound. By leveraging a digital EQ design that is also calibrated/complimentary to a saturation circuit setup in the APB-16, I think we can deliver some cool hybrid EQs to folks.

      @@McDSPTV I've been asking for Windows support for years for the APB and you guys give this exact same BS robotic response every single time without fail. Literally copy-paste stuff that feels like I'm talking to an AI robot that isn't gonna do crap about anything. You'd think for a product like the APB that relies so heavily on software you'd make some drivers for Windows users and you'd open yourself up to a whole other market of users.. but damn, only Mac OS in 2023?! Imagine charging the amount you charge for the APB and don't support Windows - yikes!! Listen McDSP, you do understand not every single user is gonna take time out of their day to directly email you and ask for you to add Windows support right? so whatever tally system you're counting up to find out "If there is enough interest for APB products on Windows" is pointless. If people go to purchase the APB but are on a Windows system and find out the APB is Mac OS only they'll just cancel it and go buy something else and you lose out - that's how it works 99% of the time! I've seen crazy amounts of comments asking for Windows for the APB and it's like you guys pretend to not see them and anytime someone does make the extra effort to directly message/email your company you give them this bland robotic response every time. Maybe delete the "we will consider it" part though. I've been waiting long enough to know that's complete lies. I was planning on getting the APB-16 myself and I have the cash right now and was waiting it out hoping to hear any word/hint that this was hopefully in the works and coming in the near future as I really wanted to buy and support this product, but your comment alone tells me nothing at all is being done about it so I'm done waiting and will invest in other gear.

      i have many 19 inch racks and an apb 16
      but my math goes like this - I am deliberately low balling numbers here on the used market all in usd
      2 500 series 8 slots racks- $ 1200
      16 compressors @ 200 a pop-3200
      16 compressors of a different kind say 1176 @ $200- 3200
      8 varimu stereo comp- say $400 - 3200
      i will stop here cause now the cost is over $10k.. we are not counting the EQs. we havent counted in the analong saturators like 8radial engg space heaters or 16 RND modules for 500 series. APB 16 is less than 10k in usa . the advantage of true analog equipment is monitoring while tracking which cannot be done with current iteration of apb. But you get recall for projects without taking pictures or using many wesaudio modules.

    I dont understand, i speak sincerely, the unit is analog and it comes with 12 effects, but you can add new ones via software? wouldnt it need a real new analog device to add a new effects?, and how a multiband analog compressor works? would`nt it take a dedicated compressor for each band? so the unit has one analog compressor circuit for each channel, but then everychannel has multiband compressor, so it has like 3 or 4 extra compressors each channel?

    • @McDSPTV
      @McDSPTV Год назад +1

      Hi there! Each of the APB plug-ins utilize the analog components within the APB in a different way. That's how we're able to have multiple APB compression plug-ins, for example, and have them all sound different. Regarding multi-band functionality: Each band of our multi-band compressor utilizes a channel on the APB. That's why a mono instance uses 3 channels, while a stereo instance uses 6. I hope this clears things up!
