I thought that too, if you lay the eggs the other way you might not fit as many but they will turn better. Also I added a second temp gauge with built in humidity reader that allows me to double check the temp and when the water runs low you can tell without opening until you need to top it up. What I don’t like is the eggs laying down, all the best incubators stand the eggs. Good luck and I hope this helps
That model isn’t to bad as a plug-in and go incubator, humidity is the hardest thing to control or even see but I run 6 of them but so far the temperature calibration hasn’t been that far off but I do agree with your final grade, Edit I have found bolting paper under the turn table helps keep humidity high in the lockdown stage of hatching and I recommend drilling a small hole inside the side of the top where you can place tiny bottle top into it and find something to easily seal the hole
Amazing video!! I know I’m watching this really late but at least you hatched two! I’m hatching some of my own eggs too so I found this video really entertaining!!
I am currently waiting for my first quail chicks to hatch. Tomorrow is lock down day. Apparently if a chick is piping you shouldn't lift the lid as it will shrink wrap all the chicks piping and they won't be able to get out of the shell. If a chick comes out really wet apparently it means your humidity was too high. I have checked the incubator so many times I might as well have just sat on the eggs myself. I find this is worse than being a little kid waiting for Christmas to come and it seems like it will never happen, lol. Congratulations on the chicks you did hatch and good luck on your next attempt at hatching!
We bought this incubator on eBay and it was 80$ . It's not branded as it comes right from the manufacturer in China. If you search for incubators on eBay you will see it . I'm not sure what the cost is this year
I just bought one for 50 bucks on ebay. So far im on day 18. Out of 12 eggs 3 were not fertilized. The rest have babies. Just did lock down waiting to see what happens.
11:55 "were getting him some buddies plus his brothers and sisters" You didn't show us what buddies you got for him? What kind? I thought you wanted multi colored egg layers? Too many questions sorry lol Best feeling when you hatch out from your farm for your farm the very 1st time! (I never had an incubator though) hey good news for me my city neighbor got chickens so maybe i can get her to bring one over once in awhile to get my chicks fix :)
I got some Easter eggers, olive eggers and some true blue. I also have 6 black copper marans coming in a week. Hopefully our second hatch has better results
The eggs should be positioned vertically towards you, not horizontally. The eggs will not be turned properly.
The eggs are positioned so that the machine rolled them it's the only direction they can face

Yes I've read that too. Going to make some adjustments to this next batch and see how we do
Great job on hatching. 2 is better than none. What kind of rooster do you have? My pet rooster is just a barnyard mix. But my other is an Ameraucana.
Our birds are pure breed heritage barred rocks.
If you give a good review I’m getting 6 random eggs from Meyer hatchery and buying this to incubate
It was ok but for the price it cost you can buy a better incubator. Check out our current incubator video to see what we upgraded to this year
Ok thanks
