Ol Blue Gets Lockers

- Pulled Ol Blue into the shop to install new front and rear lockers, upgrade the front axleshafts and install some lockout hubs. Most of it was pretty straight forward on installing them. We ran into a slight fitment issue with the rear locker, which we handled pretty quickly with the lathe. After getting all the upgrades done and wired up we ran out to Hells Revenge to do our first reco ery with it. Was a pretty easy pull to the trailhead and it did great. Super happy to finally have lockers in Ol Blue. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

LOL! They may think you are wrong or stupid for using non-greaseble U-joints, but you are the one who hauls them out of the canyon!

I always try to get non greaseable spicers also. Your supposed to take them apart and grease them from time to time. I never do. lol

I've torqued enough nuts & bolts with an impact in 51 years, that i totally agree with your method Rory! Also, i have found that greasable u-joints will introduce dirt & moisture whereas non-greasable joints don't. Great video! And as always, thanks for taking us along!

What a great video Old Blue getting locker's and upgrades! Old Blue went out on a recovery and completed the job of towing the Jeep out to the mechanic to fix the fuel pump. Rory, Shawn and Mike are a good team and always make the video fun!

I agree, "works for me" is different for everyone. Running long mileage on road vehicles that actually get greased, I would never dream of putting in non-greaseable u-joints. But I don't beat the tar out of my stuff off road, so "works for me" is definitely different. Love the, not everyone has to think the same way in the shop content.
Back in the day when I built my drag race cars, I never used greaseable U joints because they are weak and hollowed out. I always used the Spicer solid non greaseable U joints just like Rory. They never broke.
