  • Welcome to another food shop video! As a single mum always aiming to save money and be more frugal, I focus on keeping our grocery bill low so my son and I can afford more of the things we love to do together. Groceries are one of the bigger expenses we all face, so I've try to eat mainly out of the freezer, meal plan, and shop for clearance items. This way, I can use the extra money to make memories with my son.
I stick to my regular three shops - Home Bargains, Asda, and Aldi - because I know their prices well. This week, I managed to get my grocery bill under £60.
This week’s shopping bill across all three shops was £55.87
    Home Bargains: £13.69
    Asda: £10.91
    Aldi: £31.27
    Total: £55.87
This grocery haul is for myself and my son. Each week, we eat 95% of what we buy, minimizing food waste. Enjoy the video, and I'd love to hear how much you spend on your weekly shop for your family!
I will also be posting my meal plan in my Facebook group - Solo Mum to One - / solomumtoone
Or follow me over on instagram here - / rachel_solomumtoone
If you like the video, consider subscribing, and I'll continue sharing my budget grocery hauls with you.
    Have a great day!
    Rachel x

I love gherkins too on a burger great shop I wish we had an Aldi shop near me but we don't sadly. Sorry I can't help with lady things never used those for years now I'm 55 so going through the menopause. I used to use the tampons but after I had my son I couldn't use those anymore as they hurt then I switched to the always or body form pads hope you can find something comfortable to wear 👍

Hi Rachel! Just catching up with your videos. I don't rate lidl or aldi for fruit and veg only as last minute thing and if they will be used that day or the next. Asda fruit hasn't been that great recently. But I shop at sainsburys mainly at the minute and their fruit and veg is top class! With the lady things I don't use them I have the injection every 3 months to stop the nasty painful thing lol. But I used to use Body form the thin ones. Pink packet I think. Lovely haul. That was nice to invite you hope you have a lovely time x

I know Aldi fruit & veg is rubbish, I have heard mixed reviews on Lidl though. I think I will have to try different supermarkets for their fruit & veg and see what works I may do a video on it.
Thank you for the tip on Bodyform I will pick some up and try them. He was really nice to invite me and we had a great time x

I find lidl fine for fruit and veg however i prefer to buy nectrines mandrin oranges strawberries and watermelon from m&s in an ideal world i would buy all my fruit and veg from m&s but the budget would simply not allow. I have done my shopping in tesco the last few weeks and i must say i have been impressed regarding the quality and price . I store all mine in the fridge i take it out of the package and store in sealed containers i see people washing and chopping fruit and veg once they buy it. no no no i only wash and chop as a when i go to eat it so as not to lose the vitamins and minerals. As for lady things have to tried the reuseable cup or pants ??i dont need them but my daughters swear by them . How lovely for son that his mum and dad are both mature enough to go out together with him enjoy px

I think I am going to have to try different supermarkets and see which is best, I will check out Tesco though as I don't usually go there. O yes if I could fit it in the budget I would go to M&S for their fruit & veg too. I store my fruit and glass containers in the fridge too it's the first thing I do when I have been shopping.
I haven't tried the cups/pants, I will look into them but don't know if it is something I feel is for me, but thank you for the suggestion.
It has taken a long time for my ex and I to get to this point, we may not have worked out but we created an amazing child and we will always love each other for that xx

Hi Rachel, I personally don't find Lidl much different when it comes to fruit and veg. I love a jacket potato night and it's very economical too. I haven't had omelette for a while so I may have to do that again. Hope your son, his dad and yourself have a lovely time at the swimming event. Enjoy your weekend, kind regards Angeline 😊

    • @Solomumtoone
      @Solomumtoone  23 дня назад

Not a silly question at all, you can drink it, add it to smoothies, pour over fruit or make overnight oats with it. xx
