  • Welcome to another food shop
The last two weeks I have been able to get my grocery shop under £60 however I knew there would be a week when it would be higher than usual and I would have to go slightly over my £60 budget. That week was this week! My shopping bill was just over £70 I did buy more than usually which means I my grocery/food shop went slightly over budget.
This week I also took my son with me to the shop as he had an accident at school and badly hurt his hand the only extra thing I brought with him with me was some banana milkshake, otherwise he understood there was no added extras this week.
I also picked a few things up for my Dad for fathers day if you are yet to watch that video you can watch it here. • Father's day gifts fro...
This weeks shopping bill across all three shops was £70.53
The breakdown of my shop this week
    Home Bargains - £13.51
    Asda - £20.34
    Aldi - £36.68
    Total - £70.53
This shopping is for myself and my son and each week we eat 95% of what we buy there is hardly any food waste. Enjoy the video and I would love to know how much do you spend on a weekly shop for your family?
I will also be posting my meal plan in my Facebook group - Solo Mum to One - / solomumtoone
Or follow me over on instagram here - / rachel_solomumtoone
If you do like the video consider subscribing and I will continue my little food / grocery hauls for you
    Have a great day
    Rachel x

@@Solomumtoone when the food pantry was closer to our home and I had a larger shop I would grab a few things for donation. I had a spot to put them. When I got enough for a couple bags I’d take them in. Course now can donate cash online or at a the stores themselves, they take cash for local pantry donation. Sometimes they are collecting actual items outside the store. This is the worst time of year cause the Xmas donations have been used and the kids off school. During the school year one or another is collection canned goods. Our summer is 11 weeks.

Oh no bless him hope his hands heal quickly. Bet he enjoyed his milkshake. Oscar always wants to buy all his teachers and assistants etc a card and a gift ive picked up gifts cheap on temu this year lol. He has 5 teachers just in his class with teachers assistants and one to one's. Then his after school club teacher and his senco and the headteacher and the ladies in the office lol I think it's 9 teacher type people and the office. Lovely haul. Some lovely meals to have this week x

Thank you , he does love a milkshake every now and then but it took him a while to choose a flavour he wanted. It can get expensive buying all the teachers something but I didn't think about checking out Temu that's a great tip. Sounds like your boy has a lot of teachers but it's great he likes them all xx

@Solomumtoone he has 2 main teachers and 2 then became 3 TAs in his class alone then his theatre group teacher and her daughter who is her assistant. Head teacher senco and 4 in the office lol. I've bought for everyone but when you average it out is less than a fiver per person which is what I allocate. He enjoys giving to them and I'm looking forward to next year when there is just one teacher and one TA lol! X

It got to the silly stage when all 3 of mine where at school teachers assistants students helper etc so i bought s grneric thankyou card and a selection of biscuits tea and or coffee handed it in to the receptionist then week before they finished and told her to put into the staff room. Easier and more economical px

    • @Solomumtoone
      @Solomumtoone  4 месяца назад

Exactly, this is why I only buy for the main teacher and the main teaching assistant. I do like the idea of tea, coffee and biscuits though as they always have them in the staff room don't they. That's a great tip xx

@@Solomumtoone well it means everyone benefits because my little sis is a primary school teacher and at christmas and the end of the school year she ends up with over 30 gifts and cards from her class and as she said thats almost 30 pounds spent on cards alone never mind the value of the gifts which to be honest she appreciates but doesnt need so ends up redistribution to family . I think her school was thinking of a end of term donation to the charity of the class trachers choice ... but this in itself is not ideal for some. I dont know how you feel about it but how about making your own biscuits or the banana balls you make even choclate bark and packaging it nicely .... cheap but thoughtful ... those sausage rolls u made your dad looked epic i was watching late last night and what i wouldnt have given for one of them for my supper .... loving foraward to you telling us how u make them . Hope u having a good day px

Haha, I never feel organised though. Rice cakes can be a bot plain which is why I also buy the flavour ones. You can add things to the rice cake such as peanut butter, chocolate spread or put some ham and cheese on top. I didn't think of a hair mask as I have never used one but think I will give that a try thank you for the tip. Thank you he is a bit sore but it will heal in time xx
