Recent Supreme Court judgements in UAPA/PMLA cases have emphasized the importance of bail. In separate orders the top court reminded High Courts and trial courts that they “must not play safe” when it comes to grant of bail. What is the implication of these rulings and is the Supreme Court on a course correction considering it has in the past raised the bar higher for grant of bail in these cases?
