EB Union Pacific manifest train MNPIN with the C&NW heritage unit UP1995 as a mid DPU at Kirkwood

From August 22nd, 2024. Having seen it earlier this same month on August 6th I got lucky enough to catch it again on the exact same line at Kirkwood Amtrak station despite it was at 10:22 pm at night. Here we have the eastbound Union Pacific manifest train MNPIN passing by at Kirkwood Amtrak station heading towards downtown Saint Louis on the Union Pacific Jefferson City sub on main track 2 from Jefferson City Missouri. This train had stalled on kirkwood hill earlier and it took forever for the crew to get things all sorted out with all 4 locomotives on it before they were finally able to get it back underway eastbound. This train goes to the CSX East St. Louis to Indianapolis line at Rose Lake Illinois after it does work at the Alton and Southerns gateway yard over in east Saint Louis. Tonight’s MNPIN from North Platte Nebraska to Indianapolis Indiana has 2 wonderful surprises on it. Up front behind its two lead engines a Union Pacific AC4400 #7202, and another Union Pacific AC4400 #5625 we have a now leased white and I’d say desert red colored GP50 WMAX #5091 once owned by the Austin Western railroad being taken elsewhere to be scrapped. Then as a single mid train helper we have the beautiful and colorful I might add Chicago & Northwestern SD70ACE héritage unit UP1995. Skip ahead to time code 4:40 to see UP1995 I’d say the CNW heritage unit is still looking pretty nice especially after it got a relatively new paint job not too long ago last year at the Union Pacific Railroad primary locomotive shops out west in Omaha Nebraska. My good Railfan friend Noland Tipton aka ‪@upking9080‬ was also here with me at Kirkwood Amtrak station for this unique treat too. After this we saw one more westbound Union Pacific intermodal train ZMNNP pass by here on track 1 going to Jeff city then headed home for the night. Hope you all like this great video by me.
