  • The Eagles of Honeymoon Island - Honeymoon Island State Park is located on Florida’s Gulf Coast in Dunedin, Florida just north of Clearwater. It’s Florida’s most visited state park with more than a million visiting each year. The park offers four miles of beautiful undeveloped white sand beaches and a woodland habitat that attracts a host of wildlife including nesting eagles. The current nesting pair have called the Island their home since 2007. Like their human counter parts “The Northern Snow Birds” they return to the island in the fall to hatch their young and come spring take the family and head north. The nest is located on a well-marked walking trail on the northern tip of the Island. It’s an easy one mile walk from the parking lot and offers great views of other nesting birds like Osprey as well has other types of wildlife. The park is open daily from eight am until sundown. There is an eight dollar per car admission charge.
