I'm just curious as to what combat you saw exactly? According to your statement you were a kid when Vietnam was already over so it wasn't that and obviously there's no way you would have been in Iraq or Afghan bc you would be way too old.. I'm a Marine Corps combat battery in Iraq 2006 Somalia 2008, so I would just like to know what exactly you're referencing? Even Desert Storm wouldn't make sense simply because the lack of direct contact a normal Army soldier what is likely to encounter. That war was Swift and thorough, only operators and grunts specifically in the Marine Corps would fit that bill. It's not my intent to question somebody's experience with anything however I have a hair trigger when I get a whiff of Stolen Valor type situations... to be fair I guess you didn't technically say combat deployment but why you would have quote unquote flashbacks doesn't add up. Sorry🤷 either way, your donation to the show was awfully generous, kudos for that and best wishes towards finding peace, and that goes for all of us..
I’ve always thought that being fearful of certain things is actually showing bravery. There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity. Fear is a genuine survival emotion that kept our ancestors alive in the early days of man.
Fear is actually wise if there is a real reason or issue why we are fearful. There is irrational fear which can cause psychosis. But if there are issues in life where you have a real reason then be wise and deal with it appropriately.
One thing you said on an interview that struck me personally Mr. Franzese was when you talked about tough times in your life and how, from a certain perspective, it helped get you to a better place in your life. And you said “your struggle today, could be your blessing tomorrow”. That change of perspective has helped me so many times in my life, so thank you for that.
In a karate class the student asked our instructor about being scared. His reply was there is a difference between being scared and fear. Fear is normal -we all have it. Being scared is dibilitating. Micheal, I am 47 years old and have feared other people most my life. I cover it well but deep down inside I still fear. I was bullied at school, beaten up bad in my twenties. Etc. I have a great life , amazing family, earn very well. However, that deep down fear of other people has never left me! Wish it would, maybe it's just normal. I dont know.
@@Tommy-pe8ct Thank you I appreciate that. I do think where are the bullies and the people who beat me up, what have they achieved in life? I have an amazing wife, fantastic family and a great job. I just wish that fear of others would go away. However, I am fully aware there are far more people worse off than me so I need to put it into perspective for sure.
Fear can cripple you. Thank you for this. A belated Happy Birthday, Michael. I was born on the 27th, too, except in November. I'm right behind you. May you be blessed on your birthday and always.
Fear and Depression. That combination can ruin lives, and the thing is that you personally might know better but the feelings are so intense that it's nearly impossible to break them by yourself. That sense of helplessness , as if you were in a steep walled container filling with water and a steel bar mesh preventing you from rising any further than a certain level. You end up needing someone to talk with you, to get a sense that life can continue and that there is something beyond your regular life. No matter how strong you are, you can't do it alone.
Mr. Franzese, this is my favorite of all the videos you have ever done. (My other favorites are the ones where you talk about food.) I am fearful about several things I have to do in the next two months that involve dealing with difficult bureaucracies. Things that used to be so simple before the digital age crept up and took over. Yeah, I'm old, about the same age as you are. This sounds like not much when compared to the fear that you will never get out of a cell, or other people you had to deal with in The Life. However, it's real and thank you for the words of encouragement and for sharing life lessons learned.
I always love to hear about your insights Michael. They’re very interesting and informative. @Michael Franzese Most different things I was always curious about you've already answered or explained at one point or another since first finding it on RUclips in lste 2014. Fear is definitely something to overcome at times. I was a firefighter for @ 13 years and I wasn't afraid of getting killed but ending up in the burn unit or being disfigured and/or crippled in some way was a fear. But the call to help others outweighed that fear, I feared living with myself if I didn't put all I had into a rescue even more. I also feared for the patients/victims we were called to help a lot too, we want to make a difference and help people, not fall short. I've had some people ask how many people did y'all save in your years in fire/rescue service, I honestly don't know how many we saved I f made the difference on. Interesting and informative. There are 2 types of fear. Real & imagined. Real fear keeps us safe. Not placing a hand on a hot 🔥 stove top. Imagined fear is getting on a plane ✈ and thinking it's going to crash. That's irrational fear. It's the irrational fear that an individual needs to talk about with someone. That can hamper an individual from living a normal life. The orator was 100% correct discussing this topic.

Michael, i went through a similar experience with my twin daughters. Had to spend six weeks in the NICU. I usually only pray to God when there are things i feel are out of my control. I definitely prayed to him to watch over my girls during those six weeks and, thankfully, all went well. They turned 5 at the end of Feb and are two of the coolest kids I know. But i definitely felt fear for those six weeks. I agree those who say they've never been afraid are lying. I feel the same for those who say they have no regrets.

As someone who has been in a burn unit, left leg from molten metal at work. I can tell you that burns are most definitely awful.
@@Stonehorn I'm sorry you went through that, I've had some burns in my career but nothing severe enough for burn unit but painful enough to give me a fear of going there, especially in my prior profession. I hope you healed up ok and things are going better now🙏
@@jond2458 im good my man. Can’t wear shorts, but im a Canadian hunting and fishing guide, so I never do anyway. Some blistering and bleeding now and then, but life goes on.
Thank you for those 13 years of saving and helping others.
Michael--This was your best ever. I know about fear every day. Listening to you helped a lot. Thank you so much.
Learning that is why I love to watched.
I appreciate that while you do provide entertaining "mob content" it appears that you are legitimate interested in helping people. You don't speak just to entertain or talk about what a badass mafioso you were but in a way that people can learn from your experiences.
What a great video Mr. Franzese 💪🇮🇹 Much love and props from an Armenian fan of your channel 🇦🇲
Awesome message. I am still dealing with the fallout of my career because of Covid. I lost my dream job and it's not looking like a return to that is in my near future. I am at a moment that I need to recreate myself but am definitely terrified to do it. I am branching out trying new things but my knees are weak. Just hearing Michael discuss things that would have never happaned if he didn't remove himself from his former life is truly inspiring. Thank you to the Franzese team for everything you do.
Awsome convo!!
I’ve been in therapy numerous times. It has helped greatly.
You made me feel SO much better🕊️ (again) Thank you!!!😊👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for yet another fantastic sit down Mr Franzese, watching and hearing your wise words from South Africa
We all live and learn. Every day is an education, people please talk to each other ,There is people out there who will listen...you are not alone
Thank you, great sit down!
Thanks again Mr. Franzese for this video. Love your content! God bless you and yours 😀
Thanks for the message we all feel fear but it's how we deal with it.
Best advise to seek. Thank you Michael it really helpful I had to talk of having fear to my friends or teachers and hoping to give me advise too.
turning your fears and into a weapon for yourself is the best way. for overcome your fear.
Another great sit down Michael keep up the good work James uk
Mike been a fan of yours for a over a year now even though you and I come from different backgrounds I still relate and respect your opinions and ideology. Your wisdom and insight on certain topics are greatly important to the overall wellbeing of truth and understanding

Being in a constant state of absolute paranoia of my stepfather from age 9-13 has had a very lasting effect in me for my entire life.
I do not have the ability to feel compassion or remorse for bullies.
Because I was bullied.Even to this day at age 65.I do my best to know who's behind me or beside me at all times.
It doesn't go away.
God bless you Micheal 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Great message Michael! For me I give my fears and anxiety to Jesus in prayer and talk to someone I can trust. It is too much to deal with yourself. God bless you and your family 🙏🏾
Thanks for the encouragement.
God bless you Michael. Great video as always

I love hearing this good wisdom. 🙂💯

Fear. I’m very much familiar with this monster. How many many hours and days have I spent during my 61 years in combat with this ugly guy. Thank you Michael for this sit down .. what a blessing - once again ✝️🤲
Thank you so much for this message… I have never feared much in life (to my detriment at times ) but since losing my dad I have been in fear over the most silly trivial things for a couple of years and this vid really helped putting things in perspective. Big love from London. 🙏🏼
The Italian mob life is a Brotherhood that is totally commitment to dedication, honor and values. Micheal thanks you for your respect, knowledge and understanding. God bless you, your family’s and friends. Amén.

Hi Michael, enjoy your video’s and proud to call you a brother in Christ. Sometimes we fear but thank God He has not given us the Spirit of fear but of power, of love and a sound mind. Keep up the good work you do.
A deep psychological analysis of a subject that is so common to us all. You know what you are talking about without a shadow of a doubt :)
Michael thank you for this video. I have been paralyzed by fear regarding a health issue. I will move forward now. Your words really touched me. God Bless you my friend...xoxo
Wishing you the best luck and health. Your situation is well understood.
You are such a legend Micheal
I’ve heard you explain this might a few times and you say it word for word every time , the fact that night marked you do much is so openly obvious , I’m glad that nothing happened tho
Thanks Michael. Also wanted to let you know that i'm halfway through "Mafia Democracy", and think its a fantastic work on our political system.
My greatest fear is to be forgotten, and I've been set on fire.
If u work as a Garbage worker dont worry u Will be forgotten😂😅😊😚🥳😃🥳😂🤣

This was a great sit down. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I am 62, recently retired and going thru health hardships with my better half. Yes I get afraid but I never lose faith in our Lord.
Would be great to meet you some day. I’ve been following your channel for quite some time. Purchased your wine and book “ Mafia Democracy” which was great. Keep it coming my friend. God bless
@TXTTOP thanks for the sit down
thank you miachel! for another helpful video!
That would be a great sit down with you of you guys.
I’ve felt fear and I have definitely felt hopelessness and I totally understand what you’re saying. I’m not trying to copy your story but I felt hopelessness in prison and I asked god to give me the strength to get through it and he did. That’s how I know that he is real. Unfortunately I’m still a sinner but I have a good heart.God bless you Mike
I really appreciate your content Micheal and I hope you get to continue to share your wisdom and experience with us
I live in fear, unreasonable fear….I know I am afraid and feel my heart pounding, but God is the only peace I ever have. And today I am terrified to go to work and I turn you on. Ty
