Towards the end of the concert, both choirs (Moscow; St Petersburg) performed 1 or 2 pieces together. After the concert I also had the chance for small interviews with the pedagogical staff, and singers. Finally, I saw the special teachings to them by the conductor of the St Petersburg Boy Choir. All this was really great.
Boy's voices have such purity - a wonderful performance. I remember singing this in our school choir as a boy soprano way back in 1952. Our music master was Father "jock" McGovern of Thornleigh Salesian College.
Very well done boys, they appeared well focussed and involved with their words and sang the music wonderfully. All credit to them and their choir master.

Whoever teaches these children the pronunciation for the different languages - and I've heard them sing in 3 or 4 languages other than their native Russian - is doing a truly excellent job. Their pronunciation of English is excellent, the same for their pronunciation of Latin and French (can't remember the other language but probably Italian which I don't speak) so congratulations to both teacher and children.
nice and clear execution, good tuning, english, steady tempo, and very little clipping of phrases. very nice ensemble sound. i would purchase this cd. really, very nice.

Very good as that pronunciation is pretty difficult for Russian speakers. I know I would make a complete hash of even singing Kalinka! They are so young too. Only slight criticism is the tempo is a bit slow but basically it is a brilliant effort :)

Isn’t it sad that current international relations most likely prevent such cultural exchanges and concerts. Lost innocence because of adult disputes.

Regarding tempo - yes, too slow. It should have a quick pulse, rather than a stately pace. Tempo notwithstanding, I greatly enjoyed it.
I remember singing the piece at this very tempo as a boy chorister.
I like slow.
